We have lambs headed to the butcher on May 5th and have a couple available to reserve. Meat is typically ready about a week later. Pick up from the butcher (First Capital Meats in Corydon, IN) or directly from the farm in Rineyville. The lambs weigh around 110-130 lbs right now. We have an abundance of duck eggs! From our fleet of free range Indian Runners, some of the happiest ducks you’ll ever come across. $5/dozen, located in Rineyville, KY. Send a message if you’d like to pick up some eggs or fresh milk (Jersey milk, the ducks aren’t milking well just yet).

The three older calves - Pearl, Mabel, and Rye - are between 4-6 months old now. They’ve received very little handling so far, but their naturally calm dispositions and curiosity are a great foundation to build trust on.

New calf alert! This little man arrived in the evening on July 5th. Onyx also gave us a lovely black heifer calf on July 2nd. I’ll get some pictures of her soon!

That brings us to 5 Highland calves this year, 3 black heifers and 2 red/yellow bulls.

Did you know we have more than just cows around here? The first hatch of ducklings just came out of the incubator and they’re a feisty bunch!

Indian Runner ducks are best known for their goofy upright posture, like a walking wine bottle. They are considered the best foragers of all duck breeds and will cover a large area in search of ticks, snails, slugs, and whatever other tasty edibles they can find. My own ducks have done an excellent job of controlling the tick population around my farm! Runner ducks have exuberant, bubbly personalities that are evident immediately after hatching and are incredibly entertaining to watch as they zoom around looking for bugs. They are also prolific layers capable of laying over 300 eggs per year.
