Louisiana’s 2025 Drinking Water Grades Are In — And They Matter More Than You Think

The latest report from the Louisiana Department of Health just dropped, grading over 900 public water systems across the state.

The good news?
About 67% earned an A, and more than 100 systems improved this year. That’s real progress.

🔎 Field Insight: Scale in Heat Exchangers

Even a thin layer of scale inside a heat exchanger can significantly reduce heat transfer efficiency.

In cooling water systems, minerals such as calcium and magnesium can precipitate out of solution and form deposits on tube surfaces. As scale builds, heat transfer decreases and systems must work harder to maintain performance.

This can lead to:
• Increased energy consumption
• Reduced system efficiency
• Unplanned maintenance or cleaning
