We’ve had several people call and message asking us if we’re open today.
Yes we’re open… everyday 10am till dark

We have a big ole yellow feather flag at the end of our driveway. Come to the top of the hill, turn right and we’re set up over in the shade. You can pull past the stands and park or park before the stands.

And THIS is how we do our okra! 😋

Yep, I finally got me some fried okra, and let me tell ya—it was SO GOOD! 😋😋😋

Fresh okra, potatoes and onions all cooked up together in that huge 17” cast iron skillet. You can’t beat it!

My best friend, wife, taste tester, cook and partner was up late last night cooking it, but I got it! 😁

Farm fresh to the frying pan! That’s the way we roll round here❤️

We want to thank everybody who has stopped by Keown Farms over the last few days. And when I say a lot of folks have come by… I mean A LOT! 😂

We’ve seen familiar faces, met new folks, and watched a pile of fresh produce and farm-raised meats head out of here. We truly appreciate every single person who chooses to spend their hard-earned money with a local family farm. Y’all have kept us hopping! 😂

And don’t worry—we’ve still got plenty to choose from! 🍉🍅🥒🌶️

And of course we still have our other farm-stand favorites, including fresh tomatoes, yellow squash, South Carolina peaches, honey, jams & jellies, pickled beets, and hot & mild chow chow while supplies last.

And that last picture? 😂 That was my supper last night, washed down with a premium A&W root beer😋 let me tell ya I had a good supper😏. Sure it wasn’t fried okra with candy onions and Kennebec potatoes that I’d been asking for but it was wonderful😁.Everything on that plate was raised right here by us except the biscuits and gravy! Our eggs, our bacon, and our sausage. That right there is one of my favorite parts of farming—you know where your food came from because you raised it. ❤️🚜🥓🍳

I came along in 1969. I was raised in this and my Pawpaw was the G.O.A.T. He taught me the right way to do things such as farming and raising quality livestock. He taught me the do’s and don’ts also the why’s and why not’s. He gave me purpose and the knowledge to keep this going after he left us and I’ve been passing his knowledge onto our children. Lol some sticks and some don’t 😂😂😂.

🇺🇸🍉 LABOR DAY WEEKEND AT KEOWN FARMS! 🍉🇺🇸

Ok folks, y’all about cleaned us completely out of those Mennonite watermelons and cantaloupes last week! 😂 We had so many people bragging on them and coming back for more that I made the trip AGAIN yesterday to restock.

And after driving all over creation, I finally rolled back home about MIDNIGHT last night. 😤😂 So if you wanted one and missed out last time — THEY’RE BACK!

And YES, we cut some open so you can see what you’re getting! That yellow watermelon apparently didn’t need any further testing either — somebody went to town on that thing with a spoon. 😂😂

These may honestly be some of the biggest SC peaches I’ve ever seen. We had somebody asking for more peaches, so I went hunting and found some beauties. 🍑

🍉🍈 I PUT SOME MILES ON YESTERDAY HUNTING GOOD WATERMELONS & CANTALOUPES — AND I FOUND ’EM! 🍈🍉

I drove for hours yesterday looking for the right watermelons and cantaloupes to bring back to Keown Farms. I wasn’t looking for grocery-store melons that have been picked who knows when and hauled halfway across the country. I wanted fresh-picked, good-looking melons that actually TASTE like something.

Well, I finally found what I was looking for in a Mennonite community, and I believe these are some of the best-looking melons we’ve had all year!

🍉 Sugar Baby watermelons — TWO different sizes
💛🍉 Sweet Yellow Seedless Watermelons
🍈 Fresh-picked Cantaloupes

And of course, before I tell y’all something is good, it has to pass quality control. 😂 My wife, the official Keown Farms taste tester, tried the watermelons and cantaloupes and said they are the sweetest and best-tasting ones she’s had ALL YEAR! That’s good enough for me. 😂😂

While I was there, I also picked up some Candy Onions. If you like a good sweet onion, you’ll want to try these!

🍓🫐🍑 THE PRODUCE STAND IS LOADED UP! 🍅🌶️🥔

Y’all better come hungry because we’ve got a little bit of everything right now! 😊

I found some really good fresh strawberries, blackberries and blueberries and they look every bit as good as they taste! We’ve also still got those fresh South Carolina peaches—and according to my official taste tester (my wife 😂), they’re wonderful!

And if you need tomatoes… Lord, we’ve got tomatoes. 😂

You can’t miss us now! 😂

Look for the big yellow FRESH PRODUCE feather flag out front at Keown Farms! Just remember we are on Mt. Pisgah Rd. right past the huge metal building on the right if you’re coming from Hwy 151 (Alabama highway).

We’ve got fresh, locally grown produce coming straight out of our fields.
We are getting some things that we don’t have or has played out for us from a buddy of mine but if it’s not ours we’ll tell ya😉.

If you see the flag flying, come on in and see what we’ve got! Just follow the driveway to the top of the hill and hang a right, you’ll see our stand “in the shade🥵🥵🥵.

Well, here’s another post that’s not really farm related but kinda is since I get him to use his truck to haul hay and pickup feed for the farm

This is Dylan’s truck (our #3 child) second born boy😤 there’s a lot of them and that’s my taste tester Brittany’s doing😁.

He bought his first set of tires today for his first truck (first vehicle ever) I posted a few weeks ago that he saved for and bought all by himself 😊.

I’m not going to talk about the fact he bought the exact same tires I bought for mine a few months ago. He even went to “my” tire place too 😂😂😂.

He’s doing well… good job Dylan!😊😊😊.
