We are reaching out to our community for help. The same people in the 1600 block of Potts Rd that had the dogs who attacked 4 of our Wagyu calves have new puppies, and they were running across the road this morning. They were told by the county their animals need to be on leashes and not free to roam, but here they are with new ones, roaming. They are spotted, what looks to be American Pit Bulls, but it was in passing that they were seen, so I am not for certain on breed.

If you live in the area and see these dogs loose, will you please photograph or video it, and send it to me or call Catoosa Animal Control? They will do absolutely nothing without photographic evidence of some kind.

Their other dogs tore the leg off of a DONKEY, that then had to be put down, mangled 4 calves, and terrorized the neighbors dogs to where they could no longer be let out by themselves.

I definitely don't want them to have the same opportunity to be irresponsible, especially at the risk of precious livestock.

After many years in the making, we have our first Wagyu beef for sale.

We started our breeding program in 2021, by introducing our pure Wagyu bull, Kohagura (named after a man Nick met while stationed in Japan).

American Wagyu takes almost a full year longer to mature to harvest than our typical Aberdeen Angus. Kohagura arrived and got straight to work, and we now have solely American Wagyu calves raised on the farm.

Our first two went to the processor and were picked up today, and we only have 1/4 remaining available for sale.

After we complete packaging the last quarter for pickup, we will post the individual available cuts. Stay tuned!

In addition to farm meat appointments and the website, we are starting the following two new ways to buy local, sustainable, beef and pork! πŸ–πŸ₯©

For our Catoosa County/Ringgold customers, we now can be shopped in person at Upcycle & Thrift beginning next week! We will be stocking some select crowd pleasers. A bonus to having meat in town for pickup? Upcycle & Thrift is owned and operated by a local non profit, Flourish Foster Care Closet , and 10% of all sales are donated to Flourish to support our community's foster children!

We are also going to be posting photos of cuts directly to our page, so you can shop from photos! Just comment to claim, and we will invoice you and arrange pickup!

We hope these will be great ways we can feed our community with quality food, our main goal since the beginning!

Just so you know, if your livestock gets attacked, and you zero in on the dogs that attacked them because several people have had their animals attacked, some killed, or been aggressive to you or your kids in your own yard, and these dogs are still covered in your livestock's blood, law exists that states the owners only have to quarantine them for 10 days inside, and remind them that there are restraint laws. Two of our Wagyu calves are seriously injured, two more have their ears gnawed on, and it is very disheartening that in an area with so much livestock, nothing will be done about it.

If anyone sees the dogs in the photos around the 1600 block of Potts Rd, please take their picture and call Animal Control. The only way to do anything about having the threat to livestock removed is to catch them outside not on a lead.

Also, if any of our neighbors who have had issues with these animals and we haven't spoken to you yet, please email Nick at [email protected] with your account and any photos you have.

Here we go again. Not a cow this time, thankfully, but a whole different set of worry. A fire started in the woods close to our high tunnel and barn somehow on Tuesday. Waylon worked hard and kept it at bay until the fire department arrived. They stayed about an hour and a half to put it out and drench the area that night.

The same spot is back at it today. Both boys saw it while tending chickens and took action. Waylon started spraying water while Mason called and told me where they were, what was happening, and to call the fire department. He then began moving forest debris away from the fire's edge. The fire department responded quickly.

Prayers that this be resolved today, that my boys are fine from being around the smoke they were, and as always for safety and knowledge for first responders. It is too close for comfort to one of our herds, our high tunnel, and our barn.

We just wanted to update you all on the calf. He is up and moving and staying with the other calves. They are a great herd, with some awesome mommas. We will continue to keep a close watch on him.

This is not how we thought we would spend today.

Someone has shot one of our mommas. People always ask, "How do you not get attached to the animals you raise?" And I always, always respond, "We spoil and put a lot of attention into our breeding herd. They become part of the family."

This momma has a 2 month old calf. I am bawling right now listening to it call after its momma. It should have been able to get four more months of nutrition, and 16 more months of protection from her.

Some person trespassed, and shot her in the gut. She didn't get to pass humanely. She didn't get to pass with purpose. She was a phenomenal mother.

I hope whoever shot her can hear her baby calling for her, and that it eats at their heart.

I will put more media in the comments, I just didn't want it to pop up and break anyone's heart.

We've been keeping a secret... Stay tuned!
