Thinking of our neighbors, friends, and customers on the barrier islands who suffered terrible flooding this weekend. We realize and recognize that severe structural damage occurred and much was lost (we don’t mean to minimize these serious struggles) but we also hoped to share some helpful tips for your lawn and garden, especially since we’ve weathered three late summer/early fall flooding incidents in two years.

Are you familiar with GYPSUM to help fight salt water damage?

For the lawn: One 50-lb bag ≈ 1,000–2,500 sq ft at standard rates

Trees and Shrubs: Treat the root zone — spread from the trunk out to the drip line (outer edge of the canopy).
Never pile against the trunk.

After flooding like Saturday and Sunday, your lawn and landscape may struggle…It’s not too late to treat!

In case you missed them, they’re back…A fresh crop of colorful Coneflower!

Echinacea is a pollinator friendly perennial that typically blooms mid-summer.

But first…this late crop will pair perfectly with all of your fall favorites, including Purple Fountain Grass, Mums, and even pumpkins!

Just be sure to plant them in your landscape as early as possible for their best chance to come up again next year.

👋 Hi farm friends! It’s been a while again, all summer in fact, but we’re still here and open seven days a week!

As August winds down, we’re making way for all things fall!

In the meantime, our Cheyenne Spirit Coneflower are too pretty not to share.

We have an early selection of our own 9” mums too and more fall favorites to come next week, including the first crop of Ornamental Cabbage and Kale.

Dear Farm Friends,

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to share what’s “growing” on around the garden center.

Despite the wild weather, our greenhouses and displays are full of plants, flowers, herbs, veggie starts, and so much more. Thank you for shopping with us so far this spring. We’re grateful for your continued support.

As we follow up Mother’s Day this week, I’d also like to finally introduce our newest garden girl, Eleanor Jean. She arrived at the end of December, a week early, so she’s almost five month old already.

We knew she would be born with a jumbled heart but we’re so thankful she has a happy heart and a big smile.

Although she doesn’t get to come to work like big brother Everett did as a baby, we look forward to the days when she’ll be here to greet you.

I’ve always felt that what we do is much bigger than growing healthy plants. At the root of it all, it’s about growing relationships and being a positive part of our community.

I believe our little Eleanor has a special story to tell and I hope we’ll tell it well. Thank you for being a part of our farm and garden center family and our ever-growing story.
