As we look back over the past year, we can’t help but feel incredibly thankful. Lazy K Farm has continued to grow and expand in ways we’re truly proud of — from improving our operation to advancing the quality of our cattle and genetics.

Our mission remains the same:
Providing affordable, quality beef for families and offering strong genetics to help others expand their herds or take the next step into show cattle.

None of this would be possible without the support of our community, customers, friends, and family. Your trust in us means everything.

And of course, we welcomed our newest farmhand last April. Born right into the Lazy K family, he’s already been supervising chores, and we’re excited to see what his contributions will look like in the years to come.

From our farm to yours, we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It is with exciting news that we introduce our new herd bull, JSUL SAM 4674M. He is 75% Simmental, coming from Sara Sullivan Farms. We are excited to see his first calf crop, which will arrive in early 2026.

As sale calves hit the market for most farms, show season is in full swing. This dedicated showman has spent months honing her skills in showmanship, fitting, nutrition, and competition at all levels. Her hard work paid off at her local fair, where she earned the title of overall senior showman and premier exhibitor. Congratulations, Madison Hiener! Her show career is far from over.

In the past week alone, this showman and the show string achieved:
- Reserve overall breeding heifer
- 3 overall breed division banners
- 2 reserve overall breed division banners.

Today was the last big day in the show ring for Blaze. Today, Blaze was exhibited by James Utt at the Jackson County Junior Fair. He was named ”The Pride of Jackson County.” This means he was the top steer born and raised in Jackson County, West Virginia!! Congratulations JD and Blaze.

Come check him out this week as the JCJF auction will be Friday, July 29, 2022. Come out and support the youth, who are working hard to learn where dinner comes from, and then improving the quality of dinner.

Congratulations is due! James Utt showed a purebred simmental steer born May 2021 steer off our farm at The Passion for The Purple this weekend. This steer came 2nd in his class. With The high caliber of steers at this show, we are more than proud!
