🎥 Meet the OG of Local Meats — Dana of Grass Powered Poultry & Meats

Some families were doing local food long before it became a movement. Dana and her family are one of those families — which is exactly why we call her the "OG". ❤️

Grass Powered Poultry & Meats was one of the first families in our area to truly dedicate their work to feeding local families and strengthening direct-to-consumer relationships. Dana has helped countless new farm businesses get their start, and she is genuinely at the center of so many ripples happening in our local food community.

We are incredibly proud to carry her grass-fed beef, pastured pork, and pastured chicken here at Ranch & Root.

And Dana isn't stopping there. She has worked tirelessly to create a Heat & Eat option for her customers, making it easier for busy families to eat well. We carry her ready-made, delicious frozen meals right here at the market — perfect for a work lunch or those evenings when cooking just isn't happening.

And let me tell you from experience: one meal feeds a hungry man twice. They truly are the best value - from the inside out. 😂

We’re so excited to share a little more of the heart, history, and purpose behind Ranch & Root Market. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!

We’ve known for a long time that something needed to change. And we felt called to be the ones to start that change.

So, we started with a building from a simpler time - a time when food was local, life moved a little slower, folks knew you by name, and a trip to the grocery store meant bringing home what you needed to make your next homemade meal.

That’s why we’re old-fashioned on purpose at Ranch & Root.

We believe there’s something worth bringing back. Not because everything was better “back then,” but because some things were.

Knowing where your food comes from.
Knowing the farmer who raised it.
Eating food made by people who care about what they put into it.
Cooking real meals for the people around your table.
And building a community where neighbors take care of neighbors.

Ranch & Root was created to take an old idea and make it a new habit.

We’re bringing local farmers, ranchers, bakers, makers and food producers together under one roof - and putting real food back at the center of our community.

This old building has seen a lot of life. Now, we’re giving it a new purpose.

Because sometimes moving forward means looking back.

This is Ranch & Root.
This is our story.
And we’re just getting started.
