🦖 Found a dinosaur hiding in the pasture today
We have walked past this rock under the shade tree more times than we can count and the kids have played on it many times. Today I actually stopped to really look at it and it looked right back. Hollowed out eye sockets on both sides, little worn nostril holes... it’s like nature carved itself a dinosaur skull and just left it sitting here in the field like it’s nothing.
Make you think about everything this land has seen, and everyone who came before us. Long before any fence line or feed bucket, what walked across this same ground? What lived here, hunted here, called this home? Whose hands worked this dirt before our? This rock’s been here through all of it, holding stories none of us will ever fully know.
That’s the thing about farming, though. You can work the same acres each day and still stumble onto something new the second you slow down enough to actually look.
What do y’all see when you look at it?? Dinosaur, dragon, or is it just me? Tell me in the comments 👇
