Hello, Beekeepers!
August is here, and while the summer honey flow is winding down, there is still plenty to do in the bee yard. This is one of the most important months of the year for preparing healthy colonies for fall and winter.

August Beekeeping Tips
- Monitor Varroa mite levels and treat when needed.
- Check food stores—many areas experience a nectar dearth this time of year.
- Reduce hive entrances if robbing becomes a problem.
- Combine weak colonies if necessary.
- Make sure your bees have a dependable water source.
- Begin thinking ahead to fall feeding and winter preparation.
Healthy bees going into fall make healthy bees coming out in the spring!
