Two pretty sisters!

When buying goats, I like to buy and sell sisters as doelings if possible. This greatly reduces the stress of moving to a new herd as they already have a friend. Also, when goats are on your farm for a few months prior to breeding, they have plenty of time to acclimate to new environment and new herd. This pretty pair is available as a package at a package price of 900. Born in December 2026, their sire is SFTX Big Iron and they were born and raised as triplets.

Congratulations to Jacob Teague and his family on their commercial starter herd of Kikos~ four yearlings and a buckling. The crossbred buckling was definitely in the top of his weaning class and should provide excellent kids!

If you see something, say something, said Ron Gill, AgriLife Extension livestock specialist, regarding New World screwworm. Some producers may be hesitant to report, but reporting is the only way to receive sterile fly support to target infestations. Do not try to hide cases, because reporting them leads to a more effective response.

Been a busy five days! We now have about 150 kids on board, but only 11 does left to kid. I love goat social dynamics and families. Walking around tonight, I found a retired granny was watching over 10 (11? 12?) kids in a hut. Nearby was a pile of kids (a bit older than the ones in the hut), all colors and patterns. Life is good
