Now in the farm store!

The beta carotene from fresh grass in the months leading up to butcher is really highlighted in this tallow! While our cows are 100% grass fed and always on pastureā€¦here in WI we only have a few months of fresh, green grass.

Tallow: good for cooking, frying, making lotion and soap

Corn picking day success!
We are blessed with Aunt Dawn and Uncle Rich, who have acres of sweet corn for the cannery and let us pick enough to freeze for the year.
This year we added a parade, cousins, and dinner to make it an all day event :)

For many years at our county fair, an old woman named Georgia entered a lot of canned goods.
She canned everything! Cherries, peaches, meat, tomatoes, pickles, asparagus, pears, and so much more. Many times, there were categories where the only entry was Georgiaā€™s.
I would look through the fair entries and think, there is no way Georgia does all of this! How can she be the only person in the county who cans this much!?
Georgia passed away back in 2019, and the fair shelves felt a little emptier for a few years.
This year, I noticed that Tanya has apparently stepped into the role of Pierce Countyā€™s canning lady! She canned peaches, pears, tomatoes, asparagus, pickles, and the list goes on. In a few categories, she was the only person entering that specific item.
And now I know how people like Tanya and Georgia can such a variety of items. They do it year round, and the canning season never really ends!
