And this week, we’re adding a little extra sparkle in honor of a legend. 💕✨

Our kids have had Dolly Parton playing on repeat for the last few weeks, so it only feels right to bring a little Dolly magic to the market. 🎶🌸

✨ Gloa will be DOLLYING YOU UP! ✨

Come get your glitter freckles, fairy dust & rainbow sparkle and channel a little of that Dolly sunshine yourself. 🌈💖

It’s been busy around here so have not been giving updates on what’s going on lately but we had a real special night worth sharing 🐝

Tonight we had the best time learning about collecting honey 🍯 We checked the moisture content in the frames and made sure they are around 16%, then we uncapped the frames, and put them in the centrifuge. We started spinning slow because our frames are natural comb versus a plastic form so to keep the comb on the frame you start slow and then speed up over time so that too much weight doesn’t send the comb off the frame.

The honey then drips out of the centrifuge and into a bucket that has 3 filters in it. The first filter catches loose comb and large particles. The second filter catches pollen and the third is a very fine filter as a final catch of anything that makes it through the first two. Once the honey is through the filters it can be put into jars for enjoying! 🍯

Honestly one of the coolest things to see and sooo yummy to taste. The kids could not get enough. Are you as excited as we are for honey?! I’m just in love with the fact that it is honey from around us. Can’t get more local than that can it. 🤣

Fun fact. Once you spin the honey out of the frames, you put the frames back in the hive! The bees will get to work fixing and filling and also have less work to do because all that comb is already drawn out so no need for them to completely rebuild. I never knew that!

What an incredible market day! 💛✨

Thank you to every single person who stopped by our booth, picked up farm goodies, and especially to everyone who supported Gloa’s Glitter Garden. Seeing so many smiling faces covered in glitter absolutely made her day! 🌈🧚‍♀️✨

She poured her heart into this little business, and getting to add sparkle to so many people’s lives was pure joy for her. Watching her confidence grow with every customer, every conversation, and every glittery masterpiece was something we’ll never forget.

Thank you for encouraging a young entrepreneur, cheering her on, and making her feel so supported. Your kindness means more than you know. 💖

This is one of the frames from our hives this week. If you know what you’re looking for, you’ll find her pretty quickly!

A queen bee is usually longer than the worker bees around her, with a noticeably larger abdomen and a court of attendants following close behind.
