White Pine Berry Farm is a “u-pick” berry farm founded in 2012 by Greg and Irma Zwald. Named after the white pine trees towering through the grounds, White Pine is known for its strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, corn mazes, pumpkin patch, and wide variety of other produce. The remodeled classic red barn and grounds are used for hosting weddings and other events.

🙌 The GOOD NEWS, the NOT-SO-GOOD NEWS, and a whole lot to be thankful for! ❤️
What a weekend at White Pine! We had some highs, a few lows, a little wind, our first freeze, and more people than we’ve ever welcomed to the farm over three days! So, let’s recap. 😅

🎉 GOOD NEWS: We had THREE record-breaking days of attendance at White Pine!
🍩 NOT-SO-GOOD NEWS: We ran out of both apple c***r and mini donuts! We sure didn’t expect that many hungry folks, and we apologize to anyone who missed out.

💍 GOOD NEWS: We celebrated a beautiful wedding at White Pine Wedding Barn! Congrats Bennett and Britney!
💨 NOT-SO-GOOD NEWS: The wind had other plans for the bride’s veil! It flew off, giving everyone a little extra excitement on an already special day.

🎃 GOOD NEWS: We experienced our first freeze of the season, but our incredible team and some volunteers jumped into action and covered the pumpkins. They saved a ton of pumpkins! (Special thank you to Chris, Elenor, Levi, Joseph, Bob, Rosemary, Catherine, and Trevour)
🌸 NOT-SO-GREAT NEWS: After an incredibly long and beautiful run, our zinnias are officially done for the season. We sure enjoyed them while they lasted!

❤️ GOOD NEWS: Greg and Irma were able to step away from the farm and spend some much-needed quality time with family.
💔 NOT-SO-GREAT NEWS: It was for Irma's brother's celebration of life. He will be greatly missed, and we’re thankful we could be together with family to honor him.

Through all the busy days, changing weather, long hours, and unexpected moments, one thing stands out: we have a whole lot to be thankful for.

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made it such an incredible weekend! Your support means more than you know. And to our amazing White Pine team, thank you for working hard, adapting to whatever the weekend threw at us, and taking care of our farm and our visitors. We couldn’t do it without you! 🙌❤️

White Pine lost our farm accountant to a year-long battle with cancer. But to the Zwald family he was so much more than that. He was a brother, an uncle, a friend, an advisor, and one of our biggest supporters. He was also a customer who brought his kids and grandkids out to the farm, helping make White Pine Berry Farm a part of their family memories.

Mike spent the past year fighting leukemia. Through that difficult battle, our family was blessed with some extra-special memories together, including many family visits to the farm and a trip to Hawaii to celebrate his new marriage surrounded by family and friends. Those are the moments we will hold on to.

Mike leaves behind three wonderful children, seven grandchildren, and a loving wife. Just a year ago, they expected to have him around for many more years. Our hearts are with all of them as they navigate this loss.

I’ll admit, I’ve probably been kicking the can down the road when it comes to finding a new accountant. Maybe part of it has been denial. It’s hard to think about replacing someone who has been such a big part of our farm and our family for so long. Finding someone to handle the farm’s books is one thing. Replacing the person behind those books, the one who offered advice, supported our business, and cared about our family, feels like an impossible task.

Mike was a huge Packers and Badgers fan, and for his celebration of life, he requested that everyone wear their favorite sports jersey. Farmer Greg and Irma will be joining Mike’s family to celebrate his life, while I’ll be back at the farm hosting weddings and welcoming guests for three big days here at White Pine Berry Farm.

So, if you’re coming out to the farm this weekend, we’d love for you to join us in honoring Uncle Mike by wearing your favorite sports jersey! Whether you’re cheering for the Packers, Badgers, Twins, Vikings, or anyone else, let’s have a little fun and celebrate Mike’s life in a way he’d appreciate.

We have to give a little credit where it’s due: the Packers beating the Bears felt like a pretty fitting tribute to Uncle Mike. I think he would have been pretty happy with how that one turned out! 💚💛

Mike, thank you for everything you did for our family, our farm, and the generations of Zwalds who got to know and love you. You will be deeply missed.

🌽 Every corn maze has a story. Here’s the one behind our 2026 design! 🍂

Farmer Andrew was attending a River Falls Business Leaders meeting when TMF Pathfinders shared their desire to become more connected to their local communities. Seeing an opportunity to help, Andrew decided to highlight TMF Pathfinders and other local youth in this year’s corn maze. 🌽

Their motto, “If not me, then who?” resonated with Andrew and inspired him to help support their mission. 💛

TMF Pathfinders focus on leadership, character development, teamwork, and selfless service for youth in grades 6–12. By connecting youth with veteran leaders, they help create meaningful change in their communities while honoring our nation’s service members. 🇺🇸✨

📍 You can meet them right here at White Pine Berry Farm on Saturday, October 17 from 10 AM - 2 PM! They’ll have a One-Rope Bridge activity set up in our Fun Zone for guests to try. 🙌
