Randi and our Food Rescue team spent a gorgeous, rewarding day touring Long Island farms—learning, listening, and exploring new ways to partner with local growers. 🌱

Our biggest takeaway? Long Island farmers are deeply proud of their work, and it brings them joy to know their harvest can help feed neighbors in need, whether from purchases through grants or our food rescue operations saving food from landfills.

We’ve already received pallets of fresh, nutritious broccoli from Fink’s Farm—and more is on the way!

Together, we can nourish our community while supporting the farmers who make Long Island strong.

Thank you, Bill Zalakar, Long Island Farm Bureau, and Lauren McGrath, County Relations and Development, for showing us around. And thank you to these special, family farms for having us, and for joining our mission to end hunger and reduce food waste on Long Island.
