Riverside Food Cooperative Healthful local food for a stronger Riverside. WHO WE ARE. The Riverside Food Co-op is a not-for-profit member-owned, member-run grocer. WHY WE ARE. Cooperation.

As committed residents we are improving our household, ecologic, and economic health with fresh food produced right here in the Riverside region by our partner farms and growers. And we have accomplished a lot toward our vision of self-empowerment, following cooperative principles. We're real people, working together. The most potent word in any language. Working together is how we build and better our lives toward a "sustainable community," what our membership most expects from its co-op according to our Autumn 2014 survey. The spirit of sustainability is to foster all our natural resources, human and environmental, for a strengthened future. That is the cooperative enterprise. BECOME A MEMBER. With more members we can accomplish so much more. Lifetime membership is $100. You can pay it all at once or pay $25 a month for four months. Help us build you a store, a future of local food, the key to healthy local growth. Be a part of it!

“A garden can do a lot more than grow food. It can help someone heal, learn a new skill, or find a sense of purpose.”

That's the idea behind Jardineros, a bilingual outreach project from the UC Master Gardener Program of Contra Costa County. What started as pandemic-era Zoom classes has grown into six new community gardens and more than 5,700 volunteer hours.

Join us Saturday, August 8th for our monthly adult book club! This month's pick is Whose Names Are Unknown by Sanora Babb.

“As vibrant and timely today as when it was begun in the migrant camps of California, Babb’s first novel depicts the pride, suffering, and resilience of uprooted Anglo farmers who confront economic and ecological disaster. Resisting forces within society that devalue and marginalize them, the declassed refugees work together to form enduring communities.” – Douglas Wixson, Worker-Writer in America

At the annual meeting, members learned about Riverside Food Coop’s extremely successful year thanks to the tireless work of Scott Berndt, Sue Struthers & board. We elected two new board members & kicked off the capital campaign for investing in the upcoming store. Meet some of our investors, & please share to help the Coop find more investors.
