Everyone keeps saying, ā€œThis is farm life,ā€ but Iā€™m still too new to this life for that to make senseā€”and it definitely doesnā€™t make all the hard work hurt any less.

After fighting to keep them alive through that month-and-a-half heat wave, itā€™s hard to see most of them snapped at the base in one night. A few may be okay, but this might be the end of flower season for Shull Fields.

The chickens are okayā€”they were safely tucked away in the coop!
