The Hoochee Poosa Locavores are an East Alabama/West Georgia group of like minded consumers, farmers, and foodies dedicated to the production and consumption of locally grown, clean, and healthy organic fruits and vegetables. We strive to promote local initiatives and educate the general public about alternatives to their current "fast" lifestyles! Hi everyone, we have two Hoochee Poosas running for the same office, AL House District 37. Jeff Monroe of Five Points Farm is in the runoff on the Republican Side of the ballot on June 16. So if you cast a ballot in the Republican Primary, please show up again!

Michelle French will be on the Democratic side of the Ballot in November. She is having her Campaign Kickoff at the Main St. Theater (site of our Hoochee Poosa Slow Food Festival in 2015)
June 6, gates open at 4. Music games and the "glitterati" of Democratic Candidates in the State of Alabama.

Michelle and Jeff have enjoyed being on the campaign trail and both want to represent you in the legislature.

Hoochee Poosa friends need help

Gary Smith and Janet are in extremely bad health and unable to care for themselves. Everything I know has been shared on FaceBook by a friend who returned from an extended trip and found that Gary was bedridden, down to 80lbs., and having cognitive problems. Janet seems to have entered full-blown dementia. According to their friend, Gary is going into an emergency placement today.

This weekend they have requested help with cleaning and clearing the house so that it is habitable. If anyone can spare some time let’s go join the bucket brigade to clear and clean their home so that they may be able to return with help.
