Just tapped for your Thursday enjoyment:

Daisy Cutter Pale Ale from Half Acre. An absolute classic Midwest Pale Ale that reminds us of the craft beer days of yore. Fresh pine, grapefruit rind and lots of nostalgia.

Starbright: Riwaka- Another round of our wheat saison, oak-conditioned and dry-hopped with fresh Riwaka hops. Tropical white grape, nectarine and lasting juicy hop character with refreshing acidity.

Some fresh cans from Fonta Flora and Weldwerks in the to-go fridge as well. Tiny bit of Heady left too. Killer tap list, what more could you need? Come see us!

Through Open Fields- Rustic Blonde Ale

One of the more unique, strange, yet delicious beers we make. This beer begins life as a warm-fermented lager before being transferred for a short conditioning with our house mixed culture. The goal being to create a beer with the pleasant drinkability of a lager, but with soft, fruity esters and subtle complexity from our yeast. Without temperature control, we have to get creative in finding ways to stretch our style offerings. This beer has become one of our favorite experiments. This batch was all stainless-steel conditioned and draft only. Notes of white peach, green grape and lemon peel with a plush, soft texture pouring off the sidepull. It’s truly a delight!

Fun weekend ahead here, despite the current hazy conditions…

Wanted to quickly highlight our small, but focused wine program here at Blindhouse! Just brought in a couple of fun offerings by the glass, one of which being this Halozan Orange from Slovenia. If you’re unfamiliar with orange wine, it’s delightfully citrusy, complex and layered, kind of like our beer!

Our wine program is heavily focused on “natural” wine, a broad term encompassing producers that use sustainable grape growing practices, native yeast fermentation and minimal additives in processing. It’s a style of winemaking that closely resembles how we approach beer, and we find that the wine produced from these methods (when done right) is more characterful and interesting than many conventional wines.

On deck this weekend:

-plenty of fresh to-go and draft options
-both World Cup games this weekend will be on the projector! ⚽️
-Super fun 80s themed drag show immediately following the 3rd place WC game on Saturday night 7/18 with the fine folks of Glitz and Gloom. Come support some amazing performers, we’ll be open late til 10pm!
- will be back serving up his incredible Thai food once again. All day 7/19 12-6pm! If you’ve tried Dream’s food before, you know this is can’t miss. WC final will be on for your enjoyment!

Hope to see you out (well, in our taproom anyway) this weekend!

We’ve got a few scheduling updates for July we wanted to share.

July 1st: Join us for a proceeds night benefitting ! 15% of sales for the evening will go to this excellent organization. Also, we’ll have the World Cup games in the projector once again, starting with Belgium v. Senegal right at 4pm! Also, happy to hang late for the USA game if people are sticking around!

July 4th: We’ll be open limited hours, 12-6pm. Come stock up on bottles and enjoy some drafts before heading off to any celebrations!

July 9th-10th: CLOSED for “Summer Break”. We’re taking a much needed vacation and giving our staff a chance to recoup for a few days. We’ll be back in action July 11th!

If you haven’t noticed yet, you can now view our upcoming events, music schedule and special taproom hours on our website. We’re keeping this updated about a month in advance.

Since 2014, we’ve been focused on preserving neglected historic structures, rehabilitating them to their former splendor, and converting them into safe, affordable rental properties for low-income individuals and families.
