Seven Sons Farms was established in 2000 with a mission to produce nutrient-dense foods that heal and nourish our land and those who eat of its bounty!
Beginning in the 1980s thru the early 1990s we operated a conventional row crop and confinement hog operation producing pork for IBP and later Tyson Foods. As a result of a family health matter, we became aware of the problems that plague our conventional food system and how it is affecting the wellbeing of consumers. Through our personal life experiences we have come to the belief that how we man
age our soil, plants and animals will directly affect the physical and mental health of those who consume the products of our farming choices. In the late 1990s we embarked on a journey to transition our farm to a sustainable multi-species pasture based farming and direct marketing operation. After years of much effort, learning and dedication, our vision was eventually realized as a successful farm-to-consumer food business that thousands of dedicated patrons know as Seven Sons Family Farms. The vocation of bringing food to your table is not just a business to us, but also a personal ministry and responsibility that we take very seriously! Because of the overwhelming support we are now grateful to partner with a small fellowship of carefully selected farmers and artisans that are committed to producing livestock according our specific standards. We invest time to visit and develop trusting relationships with our partnering farms in order to ensure the quality and integrity of our products. It is also our desire to provide any needed mentorship and support to our farms as we seek to build a likeminded community of producers that share a common goal of enriching their lands through sustainable farming practices that result in wholesome nutrient-dense foods. Thanksgiving greetings from our farm. π
Those who know me will tell you I tend to be more of a private person which explains why this might be the first time you have heard from me. π
That said, if itβs OK with you, Iβd love to share some personal thoughts from my heart this Thanksgiving weekend.
It was 22 years ago my husband and I found ourselves convinced of a mission to begin healing our land and feeding our friends and neighbors healthy foods.
It was our dream that just maybe there would be a chance for a few of our sons to carry on this mission. Two decades later neither my husband or I wouldβve imagined the abundance that we are surrounded with today.
Iβm so thankful to have our seven sons, their wives, and 14 beautiful grandchildren here on our farm continuing this mission.
None of this would be possible without your loyal support and partnership with our farm.
As a person of faith, my heart also feels a deep sense of dependency upon our Heavenly Fatherβs divine hand of providence and blessing over our family and farm.
Iβm humbled at the thought that we hold no claim for the miracle of a sprouting seed or for the essential seasonal rains nor the warmth of the sun that generates and protects the life of that fragile seedling to take root and grow, yielding its fruit.
Deuteronomy 11:15 speaks specifically to the Master Designerβs plan when He said, βI will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.β
As mere stewards of these divine resources we as a family celebrate this harvest time in humble gratitude and praise to our ultimate source of true thanksgiving.
From our family to yours, may your home be filled with the blessings of abundant Thanksgivings.
Thanksgiving day with our loved ones is going to be here before we know it, and today we're able to open up Pre-ordering on a limited supply of 12 - 16 pound pasture-raised Thanksgiving Turkeys. π¦
This year all of our staff will be wearing bright yellow shirts that say staff. All of the seven sons will have blue shirts with their names and number on the back! π
We are so excited for tomorrow and hope to see everyone at the farm! βΊοΈ
We hope this post finds you celebrating and reminiscing about the men who have been impactful in your life on this Father's day. π

Your mission to nourish both our bodies and the earth through sustainable farming practices is inspiring! Your mission statement reminded me almost exactly of the message of a documentary I recently watched on Netflix called Kiss the Ground. The directors Joshua and Rebecca Tickell are passionate about a form of agriculture called regenerative agriculture that not only sustains but regenerates the soil. Without healthy soil and plant life our earth cannot process carbon naturally, resulting in global warming from our legacy load of carbon emissions. Farmers everywhere from North Dakota to China show that the resiliency that healthy soil provides will allow a greater profit for farmers than farmers who take subsidies from the government to produce a monoculture for feed lots. If we had taken care of our soil all these years instead of implementing pesticides used for war crimes in WWII and tilling we wouldnβt experience climate change as severely. Iβm convinced itβs not too late though. If you are interested to learn more I have included a link to the filmβs website.
Dr. Tom often mentions that he combines beef heart with with ground beef (1/2 ground beef + 1/2 ground beef heart) and I (Anne, COO) decided I needed to try this.
1. Find a good source (anyone in the midwest you should check out Seven Sons Farms - they are an amazing regenerative farm that delivers to your door). This is where I got my beef heart (whole and doesn't break the bank!) and my ground beef (both pasture raised/grass-fed).
2. I had a meat grinder at home so I ground the heart and divided into 4 (the heart was about a pound) I was too scared to do 50/50 so I decided to start off low and slow and go 25/75 :)
3. I froze each portion and waited until I was using ground beef.
Well today was the day! I made taco meat for lunch and used a pound of ground beef along with a 1/4 pound of ground heart and to my surprise - couldn't tell the difference! Both Logan (21 months) and I enjoyed it!
Stocked and prepping for the weekendβs Rawsome delivery adventures! On the dock is:
