A few farm updates since it’s been a bit since I’ve posted..
Goat life has been ROUGH lately. We’ve had to dig more holes this year than we probably have the other 10 years of goating combined. Several of these deaths were stillborns I helped to pull back in the spring, but it’s been awful. Our babies have all struggled this year..
Good news is that Sonora Quinn was accidentally bred before our last back left the farm, and gave us 3 babies last night! Please pray they stay healthy!!
Also, chicken life is thriving around here! Carlee killed it in our 4H show today and won BEST IN SHOW chicken 🐔.
Patty had her calf a couple of weeks ago and it was a boy 🙄. A stubborn little guy at that 😂 But after an illness for her, we were just thankful they were both healthy!!
Last night I was literally crying in the barn around midnight feeling so overwhelmed with the chaos of fairweek, working full time, keeping all of these animals alive and juggling life. But happy moments like today make all of the work feel worth it ❤️

It’s funny how life comes full circle!
Years ago we met Rebecca McKeown through the goat world. Now she has helped us get started in the silkie show world! My daughter is so excited about her Silkies (and Polish that I’ll save for another day). I’m not going to lie… I’m also in love. I spend way more time than I should just cuddling and watching these guys ❤️
Thank you so much Rebecca for the beautiful starter eggs you provided us! They’ve hatched into the most gorgeous babies and at only 11 ish weeks old they are already so perfect!!
Also thank you to our friend Kelsie for a couple of eggs that are in this bunch too!!

This weekend we said goodbye to one doe and our last two bucks. I walked past the buck pen this evening and panicked when I seen the open gate. And then I remembered… there aren’t anymore bucks. After a couple of sentimental tears it’s really hitting me that this season in our life is over. We will still have a few goats, and some babies here and there, but the busy ADGA show life season is officially done.
When the bucks are gone, it finalized the decision that we made a couple of years ago.
Our little farm life will still continue through some unregistered goaty births, our Red Angus cow, and all of our bougie little chickens. ❤️
Changes in life are truly bitter sweet and I’m thankful for the last 10 years of friends we’ve made through this little goat journey of ours.

Should not be bred, however we had 2 different bucks get into the pen.
