Yellow Branch Pottery & Cheese Yellow Branch Pottery and Cheese Yellow Branch Pottery and Cheese is a family business operated by Karen Mickler and Bruce DeGroot.

Karen, along with her asstistant, Stan Hyde make hand-thrown and hand-built stoneware pottery. Bruce manages a herd of jersey cows whose milk is used to make artisanal cheese on the farm.

Yellow Branch Cheese has officially retired. Thank you all for your patronage over the last 36 years. We had a great time and wonderful experiences. It all started with one cow and a desire to have a supply of good milk. We taught ourselves to make cheese and we were on our way! In 1986, there were just a handful of farms making cheese In the U.S. Little did we know, we would be a pioneer in the development of the artisan cheese movement, Slow Food, Farm to Table and hand crafted food products. Above all, we are grateful for you. Thank you!

Spring is definitely here and we are excited about our big transition. The pottery closed in 2021 after 38 glorious years. So much to be grateful for! Pots that I made and Carol Chamberlain Sullivan pots are on view at the Stecoah Valley Center. Carol worked with me over the last few years.

Yellow Branch Cheese will be sold from the farm and also available at the Stecoah Valley Center.

Farm Hours: Friday and Saturday: noon to 5pm. Please enter from Old Yellow Branch Road.
