Kipps Grapes has many varieties of grapes available in season to Pick-Your-Own (PYO). Although it varies due to weather, this is frequently August through mid September. We also have a limited amount of apples and peaches for picking. Our jellies and other fruit preserves are sold on site, and at farmers' markets and bazaars around Richmond, VA. ape jelly, as well as peach and cherry jam and apple butter. Our operation is the result of our father's overgrown fruit growing hobby. He started the PYO in the 1970's to handle the excess fruit. The local folks referred to it as Ward's (his first name) place. When his children took over, we renamed it Kipps Grapes to reflect his- and our last names. Our vineyard is surrounded by crop and pasture land and offers beautiful views of the Blue Ridge mountains to the west. Frequently there are cows in the nearby pastures and visitors will probably be greeted by one of our resident cats. Come pick, look, and enjoy yourselves.
