NEW MEADS AVAILABLE NOW

Four new meads were released earlier this week to our Mazer Club and then our email news letter subscribers!! Orchard Black Agnes is now sold out and less than a case remain of each of the other three bottles. Consort and Minaj Smyriou Reserve are varietal black currant meads all grown by Schramm's Orchards and hand-harvested at the peak of ripeness. Red Lake Reserve similarly is an estate varietal red currant mead.

SHOP SMALL. Small businesses need your support now more than ever! 🌳🍒

Last month I had a nightmare that there were only chain establishments and the only food I could eat was Panera Bread. In my dream I kept using the hashtag "BreakTheChains", which my husband rightly made fun of me for dreaming about. So today, as you hopefully do some holiday shopping, please think of the small business owners waking up from their weird dreams -- wondering if all that will be left are chain businesses and a consolidation of wealth that allows for no unique products. No community support, only corporate profits. No craft, only mass production. Be passionate about supporting your friends and neighbors. Shop small businesses, they're checking their sales hourly and hoping to make enough this month and next to get through January and February. Dry January can be especially unbearable for your local alcohol producers. Thank you so, so much to those of you who continue to support us through the highs and the lows. We love you everyday.

Yesterday my dad was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room after suffering sustained ventricular tachycardia. The hospital team acted quickly and were able to shock his heart back in to rhythm. Operating a small business in 2025 is so stressful and my fear each time we load him into the ambulance is that he won’t be there making his usual dad jokes with the hospital staff when they let us back to see him. He needs to retire, but he won’t because of the money we owe on the orchard. This week we are harvesting currants and gooseberries. Later this month, we will begin cherry harvest. After Ken's heart attack last fall, we are more aware than ever that our small team needs help with harvest. We are looking for a few friends willing to pick fruit in exchange for mead bottles and pizza. Please email [email protected] to get on the schedule if you are willing and able. We will be so grateful to you ❤️

Sad that berry harvest is pretty much over, but grateful for the incredible year of fruit we’ve had. What’s your favorite berry in a mead or in jam? Maybe we’ll add a new fruit to the roster next year 😉📅

Things have finally slowed down a little bit at the orchard after a fairly insane June and July! Great year for currants, tough year for cherries. These red currants will be going into our YEAR SIX blend, believe it or not! Time has been flying by and we are so excited to share even more of our delicious, hand crafted meads with you all 🌳♥️
