The bees are under control. 🐝

Did you know we create, craft and name all of our own recipes? And we don’t stop until we get them just right. Check out the evolution of this one in our video!

This one took 14 tries. Six different flavors. Two different bases. Three different cold foams then whipped cream. Two different sizes. Cherries. And even then, we still didn’t have the color right.

Breast cancer has personally affected our Short Stop family, so this drink is very near and dear to our hearts. We wanted to get her simply perfect. So, she can also be ordered sugar free.

We started with cherries on top, but somewhere along the way we realized the ribbon needed to be there instead. Because this isn’t just about creating a pretty pink drink or even raising money for a local family. It’s about awareness. Security Bank

So after 14 tries, a whole lot of taste testing and more opinions than we can count…

Rochester families never disappoint. 🧡💙

Rose Aesthetic & Wellness Clinic and Jen Lemme reached out and wanted to treat as many kids as possible to a free snow cone or popcorn after school Wednesday.

Come straight to The Short Stop after school. We’ll have chalk to cover the bike path in orange and blue, giant kickball and maybe we will even get out our giant parachute.

Just a bunch of Rochester kids of all ages having fun and celebrating HOCO week.

While we’re on the topic of ice… let’s talk NUGGET ICE.

Everybody loves nugget ice. We do too. But nobody loves flat, watered down soda. Sonic’s air conditioning to your air conditioned car is a good model. Ours, not so much. Nugget ice is AMAZING to chew, but all those tiny pieces mean more surface area, so it melts faster. We see it with our machine at home. The ice is usually gone before the drink is.

We looked pretty hard at a commercial nugget ice machine. The machines are also HUGE, and we have zero space to spare. The commercial machines are noisy and put off additional heat, three things our tiny, already ridiculously hot building definitely doesn’t need.

Then there’s a giant ice bin to keep clean and sanitized with hands, gloves and scoops going in and out all day. We didn’t love that. 🤢 and I’ll be honest, my employees are incredible, but I can’t imagine adding a full weekly cleanout to our deep clean schedule for a 14 or 16-year-old. 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️🤣🤦🏼‍♀️🤣🤦🏼‍♀️😬🤣😬🤦🏼‍♀️🥴

So we stick with hard frozen pure & filtrated cube ice. It’s less handling, easy to keep clean.

We LOVE nugget ice, it’s so fancy and honestly feels like the ultimate drink upgrade but sadly it is just not the right fit for The Short Stop - carbonation wins!!

So in two days, you guys have probably had more ice education than you could ever ask for.

WE LISTENED! Y’all prefer GATORADE.

We didn’t know you could sell both 🤷🏼‍♀️ We started the season as a Coke & Dr Pepper only shop. We added Alani in August, and now we’ve officially added a few Pepsi products…haven’t purchased “Pepsi” or “Starry” yet, but let us know.

We’ll be 100% phasing out Powerade and bringing in Gatorade for the 2027 season. Right now we have both.

We’re already working on how to make next season even better, so tell us… what else are we missing? What do you want to see at The Short Stop in 2027?
