Beck's Family Farm

Beck's Family Farm Beck's Family Farm has been in the family since 1906. We raise Registered and Commercial Polled Hereford and American British White Park cattle.

We grow alfalfa, oats, and corn for our cattle. We offer breeding females, show calves and freezer beef.

Took advantage of some nice weather this past week and weekend to get some spring cleaning done!

Having to work off the farm, we do what we can when we can; whether that is early mornings or late nights. It is sunny now, hopefully, we can get more done before the April showers forecasted the coming days.☀️➡️🌧

"And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, "I need a caretaker"...."somebody who would bale a family together with soft strong bonds of sharing, who would laugh, and then sign, and then reply with smiling eyes, when his son says that he wants to spend his life "doing what dad does" - so God made a farmer." - Paul Harvey

On this National Ag Day, we celebrate and look back at the opportunities that agriculture has given us as a family. Raising animals, raising crops, showing our animals and time spent together. As a seventh generation farm, the farm has seen many changes but our love for the land and animals has never wavered.

Celebrate agriculture today, and everyday!

A week of new calves! We welcomed three hereford bull calves over the weekend here at the home farm, and a little heifer in Bohners Lake.

Today, we had three new arrivals! The all bull calf streak at home ended for the 2026 calving season, welcoming two hereford heifers and a white park heifer.

The bull calves are still in the lead, but a lot of calving to go! Change of weather coming this weekend, rain or snow, the calves don't know. But when it's time, they will know to go!

Change of weather brought us some more babies!

Mother and daughter calved in the same 24 hour period! The dam, Ms Jayden, had a bull calf mid-afternoon before our FFA Alumni meeting.

While doing chores, there were signs, Autumn, was in early stages of labor. We headed off to our meeting and returned after to check on her, no progress. The waiting game continued!

Fast forward to midnight, still no calf, but she was having contractions. No going home now; a quick snooze in the car; an hour later, we had feet! Shortly after, Autumn had herself a spunky little heifer😄

Sunday afternoon fun! Add a bull calf to the tally board.

Just the lone heifer calf so far. Will we have more bull calves at the end of calving season or will the heifers have the last laugh⁉️

We will have to wait and see!

We had a feeling the change of weather would bring us a calf. Who knew it would actually happen! Found this little guy while doing chores last night. Look at that pigmentation around the eyes!

Herefords, with their white face, can be more susceptible to flies, cancer eye and sunlight. The pigmentation is a natural defense and acts like sunglasses. We've had cattle with pigmentation, but not this predominant!

Handsome nonetheless. We love calves so we are biased 😆

The Wisconsin weather roller coaster rolls on.🎢 Tuesday nights rain brought us our first heifer calf and the first calf out of our new herd sire we bought from the Wisconsin Hereford state sale last March.

Last nights weather didn't bring us any calves, but I do see snow flakes falling so you never know what could happen today🌨🌧☂️

These warm temperatures are helping thaw out the cow yard.☀️

However, it is a race to see how many loads we can get hauled. We were able to get four loads hauled this morning before the fields got too greasy.

How do you spend your Valentines Day?💕

This morning we spent it bedding cows and checking to see if we had any Valentines Day calves. So far, no new calves to report.
