Brave Blooms Flower Farm

The flowers are pretty. The reality of growing them? A whole different story 😅

With our 2026 flower season officially coming to an end, I thought I’d share a few things I’ve learned along the way.

It’s been our biggest (and busiest) season yet, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Fellow farmers, what would you add to this list? 🌸

Frost hit the farm this morning, officially bringing our 2026 flower season to an end. It's always bittersweet saying goodbye to the flowers, but what an incredible season it's been! Our biggest and best yet! I'm so thankful for everyone who supported our little farm this year. 💗

Now we're switching gears to fall planting, expanding our dahlia field, preparing for our November apothecary launch, and getting ready for an even bigger 2027! There truly is no off-season on a flower farm, haha!

Thank you for being part of another beautiful season!

Introducing Brave Blooms Mountain Rose 🌸

Her name is inspired by the beautiful and enchanting wildflowers of Tahoma (Mount Rainier).

Mountain Rose checks all the boxes I look for in a dahlia: prolific, sturdy, high petal count, long stems, great branching, and beautiful in bouquets and arrangements. This beauty is an incredible cut flower and one I think will be especially stunning for wedding and event work.

She has white-to-blush petals with beautiful pink picotee edging and centers that shift from rosy pink to soft mauve depending on the weather. Her petals twist and twirl toward the back, giving each bloom the prettiest shape.

If everything goes as planned, she’ll be in our upcoming 2027 tuber sale! ✨

Rooted in more ways than one. 💜

I’m Native and Norwegian, and I love the way this photo holds pieces of both. Wrapped around me is a Native-designed Eighth Generation blanket, woven from 100% Norwegian wool in a Norwegian mill. And in front of me is another piece of who I am: a field of flowers I’ve grown with my hands and a little farm I’ve built from the ground up 🥹
