CLOSING TIME

Hey y’all, this is Shelley, founder of For Bitter For Worse. I have an announcement: we are closing our operations.

This past year has been a hostile economic environment, and although we are scrappy, resourceful, and resilient, we weren’t able to close the funding round that we needed to support our growth and to maintain our standards.

We are immensely proud of our drinks and what our family built together. I’m grateful for our relationships with our customers, our retailers, our mentors and investors, and for fellow founders in the trenches, many of whom are also facing closure.

So, in honor of all that we’ve achieved and the hard things we’ve done, we are having a last call sale.

Jeff and Rowan and Aubyn and I are all going to be okay; we’re together and safe, and we’re able to view our situation and recognize our good fortune in the context of national and global challenges.

I’m happy to answer any questions in the comments, and I hope you’ll stock up.

Happy New Year ✨
Before we step into 2026, a look back at 2025—a year of growth, movement, community, and resilience.

• Shelley served on the Tory Burch Foundation Presidential Advisory Committee, including a special brunch honoring Martha Stewart
• We sponsored festivals, book & podcast launches, theater, fashion, and women-led events
• Shelley & Jeff drove cross-country and FBFW became officially bicoastal—with teams in Portland and Rochester
• Opened our new HQ in an 1800s brick building (former whisky distillery + vanilla extract factory ✨)
• Donated $12,700 in product and services to nonprofits across food security, environmental justice, arts, and education
• Welcomed Le’Frae, our Production Lead
• Returned to Grow-NY as a former winner
• Launched in NYC grocers
• Threw a joyful Rochester grand opening with burlesque, ribbon-cutting, and new neighbors

2025 also tested us—personally and collectively. But it was full of love, care, and community-building. Grateful for our people, our health, and the moments we made together.
