A minute+ long video and nothing exciting happens but- this beauty is sitting right over our in the field break room and has been there for over an hour, unfazed by our nearby presence. We think it’s the same one that hung out on our neighbors porch a week or two ago and conversed In squeaks and clicks with the dad of the family for about 20 minutes. A social hawk!

Porch party! They are celebrating a big hatch of new bees. It only lasted about 20 minutes but was quite festive. Al gave them another super (box) so it wouldn’t be so crowded with all the new kids in the hive. Party over, they settled right into it and went to work. Good girls.

Little robins have fledged and flown. They left yesterday, this being the last one to go. Mamabird was cheering them...

Little robins have fledged and flown. They left yesterday, this being the last one to go. Mamabird was cheering them on (or scolding them to hurry?) from a nearby tree. We’re empty nesters now! But can hear them tweeting and singing as we work in the gardens.

Happy mother’s day weekend. This mama robin nested in a greenhouse doorway and laid four eggs . She watches calmly as we pass to and fro dozens of times every day. So trusting, such sweet companionship. Wishing health and happiness to her and her babybirds,and to all mothers and offspring.
