***Greece Police Arrest Repeat Offender for Grand Larceny and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle***
On February 16, 2025, at approximately 3:16 PM, Greece Police responded to a reported stolen vehicle at Planet Fitness, located at 3670 Dewey Ave. After leaving the gym, the victim discovered his vehicle was missing from the parking lot.
An employee informed officers that a female suspect had taken the victim's car key from the gym’s key rack before driving off in the victim’s vehicle. Officers quickly initiated an investigation and, with assistance from OnStar, located the stolen vehicle traveling along West Ridge Road near Long Pond Road.
Officers coordinated with OnStar to safely disable the vehicle’s engine, allowing officers to take the suspect, Jahquira Young, 22, into custody without incident.
Young has a history of arrests, having been taken into custody six times since February 6, four of which occurred in Greece. In this instance, she was charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. Following arraignment, Young was remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $6,000 cash bail, $12,000 bond, or a $40,000 partially secured bond.
This arrest highlights the outstanding coordination between our officers, dispatch, and OnStar, leading to the swift recovery of the stolen vehicle and the apprehension of a repeat offender.
