Chicks on pasture!🐥
Sadie and I spent the afternoon finishing up our chicken tractor build and moving the chicks from the brooder to the salatin tractor. Once they’re moved to their layer coop in a month or two, we’ll have our meat chickens in here!🐓

Planted a little orchard today!🍏🍑🍎🍒 we wanted to get some trees in the ground as soon as possible since it will be a few years before they start to produce. We have honey crisp, red delicious, initial, and Williams pride apples, redhaven peaches, and black gold cherries

Put in a new water line today going from the barn to our garden plot🌱 We’ll till the grass once it dries out more and will be running drip irrigation from this line!

Chicks are here🐣 I said guys in the video but meant to say ladies!!! These ladies will be our layer flock in about 5 months. We’ll have a new set up starting later this spring and our layers will be rotated to new pasture weekly and fed soy free feed.
We’ll have plenty of eggs for sale starting late summer early fall🥚🍳🐥

Our family flock of chickens! We have a mix of layers in this group which has been just enough for eggs in the morning and for baking/recipes. We’ll be getting chicks soon to start a flock to sell eggs this summer!
