We had a great time at Whiteside County yesterday. Fun to see lots of familiar faces in and out of the ring. The kids had a great day showing and we are officially ready for a little break 😅😴

The 2026 Illinois State Fair was one for the books for our crew.

The white board in the barn has three goals on it that each kid chooses at the beginning of the season. We don’t limit those goals as parents and we let the kids set the bar, high or low. We love the drive that it creates everyday when they see their goals. We all know it is a grind to get your pigs to the state fair in the shape you hope they can be. So on those days the kids are grinding it out, it’s a nice reminder on their “why” when they look at the white board. When we got home Sunday morning and Emma checked off her final goal it was the best sigh of relief we’ve ever had in that barn. A very proud parent moment that is hard to explain. We do not take the wins lightly and we absolutely don’t take for granted the memories our kids create being a part of some of these Grand Drives. We’ve been on the other side of the coin in Springfield and it makes years like this that much sweeter. Watching Emma drive out into the coliseum in Springfield with a pig we bought with that goal in mind is literally a memory we will never forget. It is a total hustle for our family to accomplish these goals, moments, and we love how the process is molding our kids into great people! Thinking back on this year to this point it honestly doesn’t feel real sometimes but we have worked really hard for a long time to get here. We can’t thank the people around us helping us daily enough, you have all played a huge role in the success and growth of our kids. You guys all know who you are and we appreciate everyone of you so much! The breeders that we have built relationships with beyond just a pig purchase equally means as much to us as well. We’ve said it all year and it hasn’t changed, this is a complete team effort! We are so proud of the kids and as tired as we are today we can’t wait for the last couple shows of the season right around the corner. Official backdrop photos to come soon and we will add some videos from the week to our Stories!

The kids will show their pigs at our home show, Whiteside County in Morrison on Tuesday! Come out and see all the hard working kids and grab a tootsie pop on us!

Monday and Tuesday the kids took a couple pigs up to Carroll County for their 4H/Jr Show. The kids are so grateful for the bids they received on their projects Monday night in the 4H Auction! They work extremely hard throughout the season and that’s a great reward that they earn for their efforts.

Tuesdays night we stuck around for the first Jr Show at Carroll County in roughly 30 years and it was ran extremely well. We are very appreciative to everyone who had a hand in making the drastic necessary changes to the barn to accommodate the pigs and running a great show! Emma took on the role of helping Grayson get pigs ready for the show instead of being on the whip and the two of them worked together and did great! It was fun to see G get to have his own moment in the ring and we are very proud of him.

Thank you Wieser Concrete for your support of Emma and showing her another side of the agriculture industry!

Emma recently got to visit a beef confinement and see another side of the industry and how concrete slats and bunks can benefit farmers. We love seeing her having so much interest in agriculture as she’s getting older!
