🚨Long Post Alert🚨
😭🇺🇸❤️
Dear Ahyana,
Today, I’m looking at you and trying to understand where the time went.
It feels like just yesterday I was holding your little hand, protecting you from the world, making sure you were okay and reminding you that Mama would always be there.
And today…
I’m watching my baby graduate as a UNITED STATES ARMY SOLDIER. 😭🪖🇺🇸
When you left for Basic Training, a piece of my heart left with you.
I smiled because I wanted you to see how proud I was, but behind that smile was a mama trying desperately not to fall apart.
Because nobody prepares a mother for the moment when she realizes she can’t follow her child into the next chapter.
I couldn’t go with you.
I couldn’t make the hard days easier.
I couldn’t hug you when you were exhausted.
I couldn’t tell you, “Baby, you’ve got this,” when you questioned your own strength.
So I did the only thing I knew to do…
I gave you back to God. 🙏🏾😭
I asked Him to walk beside you when I couldn’t.
To cover you when my arms couldn’t reach you.
To give you strength when you felt weak.
To remind you that somewhere back home was a mama calling your name in prayer.
And baby…
LOOK AT WHAT GOD DID. 🙌🏾🇺🇸
You made it.
Not because it was easy.
You made it because somewhere inside that little girl I raised was a warrior waiting to discover just how strong she really was.
Today, when I see you standing in that uniform, I don’t just see a Soldier.
I see every version of you.
I see my little girl.
I see my first love.
I see a portion of my heartbeat walking outside of my body.
I see the young woman who chose courage when staying comfortable would have been easier.
And now I see MY SOLDIER. 🪖❤️
Today closes one chapter…
BASIC TRAINING: COMPLETE. 🎓🇺🇸
And now you’re heading to AIT.
Which means Mama has to do something my heart still isn’t very good at…
let you go again. 😭
Another goodbye.
Another destination.
Another season of missing you.
Another chapter of trusting God to protect what is most precious to me.
But this time, I know something I didn’t fully understand when you first left…
MY BABY CAN DO HARD THINGS.
You proved it.
So go to AIT, baby.
Learn.
Grow.
Become stronger.
Walk boldly into everything God has prepared for you.
And whenever life gets hard, remember where you came from.
Remember the family waiting for you.
Remember the prayers covering you.
And most importantly, remember that Mama will ALWAYS be your safe place.
No rank, uniform, distance, duty station or amount of time will ever change that.
The world may call you Soldier…
But I will forever call you MY BABY. ❤️
Today I’m not crying because I’m sad.
I’m crying because I witnessed my daughter become something she once only dreamed about.
AHYANA, YOU DID IT. 😭🇺🇸🪖
I am proud of the Soldier you’ve become.
But even more than that…
I am proud of the WOMAN underneath that uniform.
Go make your mark, Soldier.
Go walk in your purpose.
Go show the world what you’re made of.
And wherever this Army journey takes you, never forget:
BEHIND YOU IS A MAMA WHO WILL NEVER STOP PRAYING FOR YOU.
Today, my baby graduates.
Tomorrow, she continues her journey.
And forever…
THAT’S MY DAUGHTER.
THAT’S MY HEART.
THAT’S MY SOLDIER. 😭❤️🇺🇸🪖
Congratulations, Ahyana. Basic Training COMPLETE. Next stop: AIT.
Love Always,
Mama ❤️
