Our Story

Ferebee Farm is a sustainable grass-based farm in Rock Hill, SC. We provide our customers with pastured meats raised sustainably and humanely. All our animals are raised outdoors and allowed to fully express their natural instincts. By following natural patterns and using symbiotic relationships between species we are improving the environment while producing nutritionally superior food.

We currently produce lamb, poultry, pork, and eggs on pasture. We grow pesticide/herbicide free produce during the summer and offer handmade soap and wool yarn year-round. Our livestock and laying hens are all heritage breeds including our flock of critically endangered Gulf Coast Native sheep. We raise our animals naturally; all of our products are free of antibiotics, steroids, artificial hormones, and any other drugs.

One of our specialties is 100% grassfed Gulf Coast Native lamb. These sheep are highly adapted to our climate and thrive in situations where many commercial breeds struggle to survive. Gulf Coast Natives are highly resistant to heat, footrot, and parasites - major challenges most southern shepherds face.

Gulf Coast sheep are listed in Slow Food USA’s Ark of Taste for their extremely tender, mild, and delicious meat. The low lanolin level in their wool creates a finer taste than most other lamb, which tends to have a “gamey” or “muttony” flavor. By raising awareness and interest in this unique southern breed, we are helping to conserve it for generations to come.
