Pete the Purple Bull's "Kindness Rocks" Campaign

Pete the Purple Bull's "Kindness Rocks" Campaign Pete the Purple Bull is the cuddly, kind Bull leading the "Kindness Rocks" Campaign wherever he goes. What about you??

Pete the Purple Bull is a friendly, kind young fellow who wants to make a positive difference in the World. He's cuddly and soft, with an inviting smile but he's also strong and determined. He comes from a place called Harmony Farms and it was there that he heard about this thing called "Bullying". One of his dearest human friends came home from school one day and she was crying so hard she was sh

aking. She told Pete how she was being called mean names by several kids at school almost everyday. Sometimes they pulled her pretty hair and chased her on the playground. She felt sad and scared and didn't even want to go to school anymore. She hadn't told anyone because she was embarrassed and thought it might make things worse. Pete was very upset when he learned his friend was being treated in such a hurtful way and he was especially disgusted to learn this mean behavior was called Bullying! He felt “BULLIES” were giving him and his buddies a bad name so he decided to do something about it. He has come to the Human World to lead the "Bee a Good Neighbor Campaign". Pete is on a mission to teach kids (and remind adults) about the lessons of the Three Wise Bees:1)Bee respectful and kind to yourselves, 2) Bee respectful and kind to others and 3) Bee respectful and kind to the World within which you live. Pete is working hard to make "Bullying" disappear and he's looking for others to join his campaign by becoming members of his Posse and/or his Peace Patrol. 🔥BREAKING: Pope Leo RIPS Hegseth for using fake bible verse from Pulp Fiction to justify war, with one, brutal statement aimed right at Pete: Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth.

Today I have the opportunity to share a positive story! As some of you know, Ruben Moore Jr. and I have been a team for a long time, First as partners & co-founders of QC United, a nonprofit, and then eventually, partners in life. This year, on June 20th, we celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the "Swing into Education" Golf Tournament and Scholarship Program that was established by Ruben 25 years ago. Even though we have been doing this for many years now, that doesn't mean that our planning and experience always results in a perfect experience. We started this year's tournament with heavy rain, then we powered through heat and high winds, and to top it off, we were forced at the last minute to change our dinner location due to a computer scheduling glitch that resulted in a double booking. Despite our challenges this year, our golfers and our sponsors were absolutely wonderful. There were lots of laughs and the food by Famous Dave's BBQ and the prizes were very well-received. We are very appreciative of the many sponsors and golfers who helped make this 25th Anniversary tournament a success. This year, we have the privilege of thanking the Bribriesco Law Firm for being our top tier Platinum Sponsor. We also are very fortunate to have the support of several generous Gold Sponsors; Bob Sanders, in honor of Steve and Melinda Overton, The Davenport Morning Optimists, Arconic, The Iowa Water Company, Famous Dave's BBQ, The Davenport Police Department and Union and the Royal Neighbor's Chapter, 20046. We have too many dedicated volunteers and loyal golfers to count. We can't say "Thank You" enough!

Congratulations to the scholarship winners of the 25th Anniversary 'Swing into Education" Scholarship Program! Through QC United, our nonprofit, we provided five hard-working students with scholarships this year. This includes the 1st Annual Ruben Moore Scholarship, established in honor of the program founder. Pictured below from left to right, are three of the scholarship winners, along with Ruben: Victoria Younger from Davenport West High School, Benie Toko From Davenport Central High, and Safwan Abdelkarim from United Township High School.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Ruben Moore's retirement along with the 25th anniversary of the golf tournament and scholarship program he founded. Ruben is president of the Pete the Purple Bull/QC United organization and he has made quite a mark on the Quad City community over the years.

The Gala was so much fun because many of his family members, good friends and past students were there to show their love and to share many stories and laughs.

We want to send out a special "THANK YOU!" to Jasmine and Armoni Butler, Colleen Bostic, Tammy Trice, Isiaih Gibbs, Farran Hayslett, Beverly Woods, Dave Baker, Decker Ploehn and Linda Clark, Marian Davis and Cynthia Luckey Davis.

For those who couldn't make it to the Gala, you still have time to sign up for the 25th Anniversary "Swing into Education" Golf Tournament that supports local scholarships. The tournament is Friday, June 20th at Duck Creek Golf Course. You can sign up at our website: www.qcunited.org

Hello friends. Pete here. I know there are many who are suffering from devastating loss right now. I can't take the pain away but it's important you know you are loved and that help is on the way to address your many needs. If you are one of the few who is adding to the grief felt by victims, by blaming and/or applauding the devastation being experienced, STOP. STOP NOW. It is shameful behavior. Carrying such hate and disdain helps no one, including yourself. If you can't let go of these gross infestations on your own, seek help immediately. You have a disease that if left untreated, grows and infects others. Practice using your energy to help others and to make the World a better place.

If you are fortunate enough to wake up in a safe place where your needs can be fully met and your family and friends are residing safely nearby, be grateful. Please open your hearts to those not so lucky today, like those in areas devastated by hurricane Helene. They remain in crisis- no water, no electricity and very limited cell service. They can't leave and help can't get in due to roads being washed away or blocked by debris. We must support our neighbors. We never know when a crisis will strike but knowing we are not alone is essential to getting through the darkness.❤️

Those who witness bullying are the key to stopping it. Help kids to be Upstanders, not Bystanders, by showing them how to challenge the bullies and how to support the victims.
