Crosswinds Farm

Directions

Crosswinds Farm Crosswinds Farm is a small fiber farm in Iowa, creating handspun yarn and fiber art. Crosswinds Farm is located in Eastern Iowa, just North of the Quad-Cities.

We are home to a colorful flock of registered Shetland Sheep, registered Romeldale/CVM, as well as a few crossbred fiber-sheep. We also share the farm with a couple of quirky llamas, two ancient horses, and a mixed flock of heritage and other random chickens who have mostly made their way here through farm friends who have offered me one or two chickens, and in actuality, brought me 5, or 8, or 10 (also known as being Chicken-Mathed) . Of course, we also have some rescued barn cats, and my best buddy, our Shelter dog, Ellie. None of our animals are ever used for meat. Everyone here has a name (except for some of the confusing, look-alike chickens) and most live their entire lives on our farm. Our sheep are raised for their lovely fiber which we shear once a year, and then I spin the fiber by hand, or have it millspun at a local mill to make beautiful, soft yarn to sell at our local farmers' market and online in our Etsy shop. We participate in several fiber festivals, and craft shows throughout the year which will be listed on our calender on our page. Unfortunately, for insurance reasons, we are not able to open the farm itself for public tours. Some of our products can also be found locally at The Skeleton Key in Rock Island, Illinois, Excelsior Studio and Galleria in Cambridge, Illinois.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who came to Bev’s Yarn Barn yesterday to support our small businesses! We so appreciate you!

Today, find us, along with several other small businesses, music, local meats that are not on any recall list 😆, and even a coffee truck at Miss Effie’s Flower Farm in Donahue, Iowa, for the FarmHers Market Fall Festival! 11-3pm.
27387 130th avenue, Donahue, Iowa.

I will have many of the same items that I posted yesterday, plus pumpkin pecan, banana chocolate chip, and possibly rhubarb bread (if time allows).

I even picked a peck of peppers…the pickling part is on you, though!

I still have several catnip toys available. Sadly, the felted pincushions found their forever homes yesterday…don’t worry, I’ll make more before the holidays!

It’s Saturday, and we’re all set up at Bev’s Yarn Barn 323 18th street, Rock Island, Illinois. 10-4!
