KuneKune Facts:
Mostly noticeable by their double wattles on their jaws, KuneKunes are a perfect homestead addition because of their diets, size, mannerisms, and quality of meat.
KuneKunes can be raised on mostly pasture/hay, supplementing with kitchen scraps. This keeps animal feed costs at bay.
KuneKunes grow to be an average of 200 pounds, and take about 18 months to reach maturity.
KuneKunes have short upturned noses and are easy on pastures, unlike other breeds who root up entire fields. They also respect boundaries and do not test gates or fences. They’re friendly to children and other livestock. They’re even trainable!
KuneKune meat is RED and deeply marbled, almost like fine steak. (Comparable to Kobe Beef.) They also produce fine lard which can be used in cooking, baking and soap making.
Pure KuneKunes are a heritage breed with 12 total traceable boar lines and 16 traceable sow lines. These bloodlines are registered and tracked through AKKPS & IKPR.
All in all KuneKunes are the perfect piglet to add to your family, homestead, or dinner plans!
