Beekeeping is always a challenge, the bees have a mind of their own. You can provide them with nice drawn comb in nice swarm traps and they still decide that an open air hive is the best option. I had no idea that this hive was 40ft in the air until all the trees lost their leaves. Unfortunately their poor decision making cost them their lives.

This years honey harvest has come to a close. After many hours of extracting the honey, the total comes to 895lbs of delicious raw local honey.
The hot dry months of June and July had a major impact on the bees this year resulting in lower yields than expected but there is still plenty to go around!
