Hey friends! With heavy rain and winds expected Saturday, we’ve decided to keep the farm stand closed tomorrow for everyone’s safety. If the weather changes for the better then we will open later if possible.

❤️ But we’re planning to definitely be OPEN SUNDAY at 11 AM!

And we’ve got some wonderful fall produce, plenty of eggs, and other farm stand favorites coming your way.

We’re hoping to have our little pumpkin patch ready NEXT weekend! The weather has slowed us down a bit, but we’re looking forward to sharing some fall fun with y’all soon!

After being closed last weekend for Luna’s heart surgery, we’re especially excited to welcome everyone back. We truly appreciate all the prayers, love, and kindness you’ve shown our family. ❤️

Just a reminder that we’ll be closed this weekend, October 3–4, while our sweet Luna recovers from open-heart surgery. She’s one of our very best little farm hands, and right now we’re taking time to care for her. ❤️

Her surgery went great, and we should be home soon! We’re so thankful for all the prayers, kind words, and love you’ve shown our family.

🍅🍎 Sunday at Luttrell Farm — Come Get the Last of Summer! 🌻🍂

We’re OPEN today until dark, and as the seasons begin to change, so is the farm stand!

We’ve got some GREAT prices on fresh produce today:

🍅 Tomatoes — 3 for $1
🥔 Baking potatoes — 4 for $1
🍠 Sweet potatoes — 4 for $1
🍎 Fresh-picked apples — 2 for $1
🥒 A few zucchini left
🌶️ And the LAST of our specialty peppers for the season!

If you’ve been enjoying those peppers, this is the weekend to stock up. Once these are gone, that’s it for the season!

This may also be our last weekend for tomatoes as we say goodbye to the summer veggies and start turning our attention toward fall and winter crops. 🍂❤️

And y’all have been asking about eggs…we have plenty today at $3 per dozen.

❤️ One important note for next weekend:

The farm stand will be CLOSED next weekend.

Our sweet Luna has her open-heart surgery coming up, so our family will be focused on being where we need to be with her. We appreciate every single prayer being said for our girl, her medical team, and our family. They mean more to us than I can tell you. 🙏❤️

And when we reopen the following weekend, we’ll be moving right into FALL…

We have had visitors at the farm three days in a row, and every single time, Carl has appeared in full uniform.

Tail fanned.
Feathers puffed.
Wings dragging.
Strutting.
Hissing.
Following everybody around.

Apparently Carl has appointed himself Director of Farm Tours & Public Relations.

I originally thought he was just showing off when we had company.

Nope.

This is a JOB to him.

And his responsibilities don’t stop with visitors.

When it’s time to rotate the sheep to another pasture, Carl comes along and “helps” me move them. I’m not entirely sure what his actual contribution is, but he marches along looking extremely important, so I’m hesitant to question his methods.

Meanwhile, our livestock guardian dog Rosco whose actual job includes protecting the farm from predators is terrified of Carl. 😂

So the current chain of command appears to be:

Carl

Everyone else.

Carl isn’t mean. He’s just extraordinarily confident. I can literally scoop him up and hug him in the middle of one of these performances, which I’m sure is humiliating for a man of his position.

But if you visit the farm and a giant puffed-up turkey starts following you around, don’t be alarmed.

That’s Carl.

He’ll be conducting your tour.

Please act impressed. It’s important to him. 😂🦃❤️

One thing that has always mattered to us is keeping fresh food affordable for our community.

We know grocery prices are high. We know feeding a family costs more than it used to. And we truly believe everyone should be able to bring home some fresh produce without feeling like they’ve blown the grocery budget.

So, come grab a tomato or two, a few potatoes, some apples for the kids, or enough to put together a few meals for the week. And if shopping here helps stretch your grocery dollars just a little farther, then our little farm stand is doing exactly what we want it to do. ❤️
