If youā€™ve been trying to catch us over the last couple of weeks but weā€™ve been everywhere BUT homeā€¦ todayā€™s your day!! šŸ˜‚

Weā€™re pulling up at Tide on 35 from 4ā€“7:30 PM, and weā€™d sure love to see yā€™all!
Itā€™s not too early to cancel those dinner plansā€¦ and itā€™s definitely not too late to make some new ones! šŸ˜‰šŸ”„

Weā€™re looking forward to seeing all those familiar faces weā€™ve been missing, and weā€™re hoping to meet a whole bunch of new ones, too!

Weā€™ve been blessed with some incredible opportunities to take OutKast on the road lately, but thereā€™s just something special about getting back to serving our Rockport community. ā¤ļø

ā¤ļø THREE EVENTS. THREE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES. ONE GREATER PURPOSE. šŸ™Œ

What a whirlwind these past couple of weeks have been for OutKast Smokestack!

From Rockport-Fulton SeaFair, to Rockportā€™s National Night Out, and then hopping over to Cuero for TurkeyFest.

Three completely different events, each with its own atmosphere, its own people, and its own special memories.

But one thing remained the same through it all. The opportunity to serve people, love people, and hopefully reflect a little bit of the love of our Creator along the way. ā¤ļø

Being in our very first year of business, we donā€™t take opportunities like these lightly.

We want to sincerely thank the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce for welcoming us to SeaFair, the Rockport Police Department for allowing us to be part of National Night Out, and everyone involved in making Cuero TurkeyFest possible.

To the organizers, committees, volunteers, and all those working behind the scenesā€”there is so much that goes into putting on events like these that most people never see.

We see the long hours, the dedication, and the hearts behind what you do, and we are truly grateful that you allowed OutKast Smokestack to be a small part of it.

And to every single person who stopped by our window, whether you came for a meal, shared a conversation, offered an encouraging word, or allowed us the opportunity to pray with youā€”THANK YOU!

Some of the greatest moments we take home from these events have absolutely nothing to do with how much food we sold.

Itā€™s the conversations. The connections. The prayers. The people.

Those are the things that remind us why we started this journey in the first place.

Weā€™ve said it from the beginning, food is the vehicle. Itā€™s what brings us together, but our purpose has always been so much greater than whatā€™s coming off that smoker.

We are thankful for every door the Lord has opened, every person He has placed in our path, and every opportunity weā€™ve been given to serve.

Weā€™re still learning, still growing, and looking forward to wherever He leads us next.

Good food may bring people to our window, but we pray itā€™s the love of Jesus they remember when they leave. ā¤ļø

šŸ‹ THE DEVIL THOUGHT HE HAD US TODAYā€¦

I guess he forgot WHO we belong to. šŸ™Œ

That bumpy dirt road between us and a special group of guys we get to feed finally got the best of us.

We broke an upper ball joint on the truck, shook the trailer from one end to the other, and when we finally opened that trailer doorā€¦

WHEW. šŸ˜³šŸ˜‚

Stuff was everywhere. Our Blessing Station had been turned upside down, little Bibles were scattered across the floor, and prayer requests were laying everywhere.

At first, all I could see was the mess.
But then I started picking up those little Bibles, and it hit me a little differently.

Those Bibles contain the Gospelsā€”the Good News of Jesusā€”and here they were literally scattered all over our trailer.

I couldnā€™t help but smile.

Because six years ago, when the Lord started putting this little food trailer on my heart, I thought He was calling me to feed people.

Over time, Heā€™s shown me that the food is just the vehicle. The real purpose has always been the people we get to serve, love on, encourage, and hopefully point back to Him.

One of the best parts of today was watching that serving go both ways.

We showed up there to make sure those guys ate, but when we were the ones who needed help, people didnā€™t hesitate.

The company mechanics stopped what they were doing and jumped in to help us, while others stepped up to help get our trailer where it needed to be so we could still do what we came there to doā€”make sure those guys got fed.

That part isnā€™t lost on us. ā¤ļø

Sometimes you show up thinking youā€™re there to serve somebody else, and God gives you a reminder of what it feels like to be on the receiving end of it.

So today definitely didnā€™t go anything like we planned.

We had a broken truck, a trailer that had been shaken from one end to the other, and quite a mess waiting on us when we opened that door.

But in the middle of all of it, people stepped up, those guys still got fed, the Bibles and prayer requests found their way back to the Blessing Station, and we were reminded once again that the mission doesnā€™t change just because the day doesnā€™t go according to plan.

So I reckon if the devil thought he was handing us lemons todayā€¦

he forgot WE BE MAKIN LEMONADE šŸŽ¶šŸŽµ. šŸ‹šŸ˜‚šŸ™Œ

God is still good.
Weā€™re still rolling.
And weā€™re still here to serve. ā¤ļø
