The new varieties were at the end of the dividing cue and didn't make it into our initial sale.There are some real gems among them! If you've already placed an order, not to worry: I'll combine orders and refund any extra shipping fees when your box leaves the farm.

Dahlia of the Day: Vian 2 To Tango (scroll for more pics)

This variety from Canadian breeder Vittorio Fontana is WILD. It is one of my all-time favorites, and the most complimented dahlia in my field. The 5-6" formal decorative blooms are a gorgeous mix of white, pinky coral, and orange -- each one patterned differently. Tall plants, glossy foliage, excellent stems, and perfect bloom angle complete the package.

Hey dahlia friends! Roving Radish Flower Farm is in need of bagged leaves to help insulate the dahlia tubers we haven't dug yet from next week's cold snap. (I am digging as fast as I can, but one person can only dig so fast!) If you have leaves from your yard to donate, please drop them off at the field any time now through December 1st. The turnoff into the field is just past 1 Old Straitsmouth Way, Rockport, MA. You'll see a partially dug field surrounded by deer fence, with pumpkins at the entry. Drive right up, set your bags inside the fenced area, and I will take it from there. Thanks so much!

We had a number of kind offers to help with the "big dig" this year, and now the moment has arrived. Susie is organizing a volunteer session this Saturday, 11/22, from 12-3pm. We're hoping to get the plants cut down and trellis packed away to facilitate dahlia evacuation.

We'll be handing out hot cider and free bouquet vouchers to thank you for your efforts.

The field is winding down as the days get shorter, but there are still plenty of treasures to be found. As a thank you to our customers, we will be having a "final clearance picking" on Sunday, November 2, from 1-4pm. Come enjoy a last stroll through the dahlias, and fill a bucket for $25!

Winter is coming. But it's not here yet! The Roving Radish dahlia field is still blooming beautifully, thanks to our magical Rockport microclimate. We'll be open for picking both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, October 25 and 26, from 1-5pm. There is free onsite parking and no charge to enter; you just pay by the stem ($1-$5) for any blooms you cut. The turnoff into the field is just past 1 Old Straitsmouth Way, Rockport, MA (back behind Heath's Tea Room). Bring some snips and a container with water to transport your bounty. Hope to see you soon!
