Aldermere Farm partnered with Ag Allies to protect Bobolink nesting habitat in our pastures. The bobolink population has severely declined in recent years due to habitat loss from hay cropping. Through thoughtful planning, Aldermere delays cutting hay in Bobolink nesting fields until nesting season is over in mid July. We care about grassland birds as they are natural pest predators (including ticks!) and contribute to a diverse, healthy grassland ecosystem. This is conservation agriculture in action!
