It is with sad hearts we share the news that our sweet Helen has crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈 Many of you knew Helen as our official Italian Cowboy dog toy model and mascot. Although many of you will remember her from our social media, most probably do not know how she came to us. Seven years ago Helen was one of 10 dogs saved from a property in Aransas County. They were in a bad situation. After the county seized the dogs, Another Chance rescue stepped up and saved all of the dogs to get them adopted. We took Helen as a foster and soon learned that she was a cruelty survivor that had been fed m**h and left with a side full of BB pellets and tracheal damage from being chained. Despite that abuse, her capacity to love was endless and we had seven great years with her.❤️
A huge thanks to Tana Neel and the volunteers at Another Chance rescue for giving Helen a chance at a great life. She is one of the 2700 dogs they have saved here in Aransas county. We are very grateful for the compassion and kindness of Doctor Dorris and Leah at Rockport Veterinary Clinic who helped us make her final moments filled with love and kindness. Thank you Ronnell for working with Another Chance to get these dogs out of danger. For this week‘s post, we thought it only appropriate to share Helen showing off the signature Italian Cowboy dog toy when it was launched several years ago.🐶

If you are looking for a new dog, please check them out. They have so many great dogs in need of homes and all of them are medically vetted. Finally, if you see som**hing say som**hing. Helen and the other dogs were saved because someone reported the bad situation to county animal control. Small actions can make a big impact and even save a life.💕
In her honor, we will be collecting Purina dog food, dog treats, and unused dog toys for the month of August, which will be donated to Another Chance to rescue.🐾
