I have some ewe lambs that are ready to go. I debated keeping some for myself, but have decided not to. So I have some available. 9 total ewe lambs, incentives for a group but only a couple is okay too. They are Jan and Feb lambs, weighing 100-120 lbs. They are on full feed. This is the surprise I found the other day when I was checking pastures. Turns out this ewe wasn't open, she was just 3 months later than everyone else! But better late than never. Mom and her twins are doing well and enjoying the warm weather and green grass!

Lambing is well underway! Things have been so busy I have not had a chance to post an update, but here are a couple sheep pictures. The lambs are doing well, and I will get some more pictures soon. Just 2 ewes to go!

Rockwell, IA. The 2019 lambs are ready to go! I have a commercial ram or two worth looking at and some commercial ewe lambs as well. All lambs are sired by my registered Katahdin ram, BUL18399 who has a hair index of 109. The first three pictures are of one of the rams. He is a twin out of a ewe lamb. Born on 3-28-2019. The rest of the pictures are the ewe lambs born from the end of Feb.-first part of April. I am not keeping any so they all are up for discussion 😉 Let me know if you have any questions or would like to come take a look!

I have honey! Limited quantity of local honey for sale. They are 16 oz plastic squeeze bottles for $8 each. Due to the small supply we are limiting them to 2 bottles per customer. Thank you!

Rockwell, IA. The 2019 lamb crop is coming right along! I have a few rams (the first 3 pictures) that I would like to discuss. The ram in the first picture is a twin out of a 1/2 Barbados 1/2 Katahdin ewe who raised nice twins last year as a yearling and nice twins this year as a two year old. He has about 20 pounds on the lambs his age. The rest of the rams are up for discussion also. The last 4 pictures are of the ewe lambs, which I have 10 total that could be discussed. Not keeping any lambs back this year, so everything is up for discussion. My flock consists of ewes from Prarie's Edge Farm as well as JSH Katahdins. My ram is registered Katahdin from Steve Bull, BUL18399. If you have any questions or would like to discuss, let me know!

UPDATE: The brown/white ram was born 2/19/2019 and weighs about 120 lbs. The rest of the lambs range from end of February to the middle of April and range from 60-90 lbs.

Lambing season is under way!
Day 1: 2 y/o ewe had twin rams
Day 2: 2 y/o ewe had single ewe
Then the ladies took a break for about two weeks until yesterday.
Day 15: 2 y/o ewe had a single ewe.
Hoping for some more twins! My new ram sure throws some color!
All the chickens are laying up a storm and we are working towards hatching some in a few weeks.
In sadder news, I lost both beehives in the last month of nasty weather. But, we will be getting bees again this spring to try try again!

Happy New Year! Just thought I'd give everyone an update. The hens are doing well and laying lots of eggs. The pullets that I hatched this spring are also laying now. The bees are alive and surviving the winter, so far. The ewes are due to start lambing about February 20th, exciting times! Sorry I don't have more pictures, I will have to try and take some more!

We have LOTS of eggs! The hens are laying well again, so we have an abundance of eggs. $3/dozen or 2 dozen for $5! Let me know if you want any!

The broilers are processed and in the freezer. I have 5 whole birds (averaging 6.5 pounds) for sale. I am asking $16 each, let me know if you are interested. If there is enough interest, I will run another batch. A lot has happened over the last month, I have new pictures that I will be posting with an update shortly!
