After a five-year hiatus, the Western Pennsylvania Cooperative Sheep and Wool Growers Association is bringing back its Wool Pool on June 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and June 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds, 464 Midway Road, New Castle, Pennsylvania.

In recent years, a “glut of overseas wool,” the popularity of synthetic clothing and a halt in the processing of wool during the COVID-19 pandemic have stifled the wool industry.

The wool pool is possible this year due to processors being up and running again, and a stockpile of wool from other countries like New Zealand and Australia finally used up, organizers said.

Brother and sister out of Unfiltered… he’s a little overstretched in the photo but looking good! 😍 She weighed 122 lbs and he weighed 114 lbs today. DOB 12/25/26

These two are brother and sister out of one of our top ewes and sired by Beatty’s Unfiltered. We took them for a walk today and I got this video on the way back to the barn. We are extremely happy with the lambs from this year!
