My life lately in photos
🌻These are the most fragrant sunflowers I have ever grown. Back in high school I had a perfume called Sunflower and the scent of these real sunflowers is a natural copycat of the perfume.

Ok let's try this again. Thanks to spotty internet service, only half my thoughts uploaded 🙃

Last week started the beginning of a new adventure for our family. After 15 wonderful years filled with so many memories in our old home we made the difficult by right decision to sell it and move to our other price of property just down the road. We were blessed with the opportunity to purchase this property a few years ago and we have slowly been turning it into our new farm. We moved our pigs and goats there first, then added cows and sheep, and then Quintyn brought her horse there to stay. We have been building barns and establishing veggie and flower gardens. It is where we knew we wanted to be... we just didn't know it would happen so soon. For the past 3 years we have been taking care of both properties which has been a lot! And although we have a lot of work ahead of us taking this raw property and turning it into our home, it feels like a breath of fresh air and easier if that makes sense. All those years playing The Oregon Trail in middle school have really paid off - I feel like a 21st pioneer. We are excited for what is to come and to continue what we love to do. What a blessing it is to find enjoyment in the work of your hands! To God be the glory!

Calla Lillies are the new flower to the party this weekend 💜 They will be tucked into large market bouquets this weekend - along with more sunflowers 🌻 and other beauties in bloom!
I will have more beans 💚 new potatoes 🤍and I'm debating picking some beautiful green tomatoes!

I will have griller packs of chicken 🐓 and lots of pork chops and sausage 🐖 Quintyn created a new pumpkin dog treat 🎃 and she will also have the classic peanut butter treats 🐾

🌻 Thank you to all the people who make a conscience effort to shop local and who see the value in supporting their local farmers.

The farmers market is always so much fun - it's like a weekly recap from everyone in the community. It's a way to connect with the people who live in the same area that I may have never known otherwise, to share a little bit of who we are and what we do, and to see the talent and hard work that other vendors pour into their work. It takes me back a few years to when face to face interactions were the norm. It has a nostalgic feeling. It's one of my favorite parts of the weekend.

It's the icing on the cake to get pictures, like this one, from a sweet friend I met through the market. She also has a love of growing and arranging flowers and supporting local farmers 🤍 She buys local flowers and then creates the most beautiful arrangements - and I am lucky enough to see her amazing work!

Yes it is Friday and that only means one thing, tomorrow is Market day at the Kingston Lakeside Farmers Market and for all those that didn't want to melt in the rain last week get out tomorrow as the weather is to cooperate and we'll have fresh samples of Morning Sunrise 🌅 should be a full lineup of returning vendors so come on down and enjoy the lake while shopping local! farmers

One of my favorites parts of the day, is putting the calves up in the evening. In my mind it is the close of the day - an end of the days work and heading back to the house to eat supper and relax. The cows and horse have their nightly routine too which usually ends with a treat. The evenings don't typically look as neat and tidy as this picture, but as I was walking the calves back, I turned around and saw everyone in a single file line quietly following me. It was so peaceful and calm 🤍
🌻Hopefully this weekend is as peaceful and calm as it was putting the calves up last night. I will be at the tomorrow with sunflower bouquets🌻💐non-GMO corn-free/soy-free pork and chicken 🐖🐓 and the first green beans from the garden 💚 See you there!
