Lately, we’ve been thinking a lot about local food, local farms, and the people behind them.
Truth is… there are a whole lot of folks around here working long days to bring good things to this community. Early mornings. Late nights. Loaded trucks. Dirty boots. Risky seasons. Full coolers. Empty shelves. Restock and repeat.
And honestly? We think that deserves support across the board.
So today, we want to encourage you to not just support us at The Barn Market at Deer Creek Farms… but support ALL the local folks out here working hard to feed and serve this community.
Stop by and support:
• Rock Spring Produce — not just produce and groceries, but some really beautiful plants too.
• Addis Family Farm — a hardworking family with a dairy farm and cute little farm store that has a whole lot of heart behind it.
•41 Feed & Garden Center— an amazing garden center and feed store also helping bring local products into the community.
• Lafayette Farmers Market — a full group of vendors and farmers hustling every weekend to create something worth showing up for.
• Rabbit Valley Farmer Market — a full group of vendors and farmers hustling every weekend to create something worth showing up for.
• Chattanooga Market — bringing together a huge variety of local vendors, growers, makers, produce, handmade goods, and homegrown talent all in one place.
• Pitts Cattle Farm at Hanks — raising beef, investing in the community, and doing the work day in and day out.
• Browns Produce — over on the other side of town keeping fresh produce available for local families.
• 810 Butchers Market & Deli in Ringgold — serving up incredible sandwiches and doing things the right way.
• Chickamauga Creek Farms — growing beautiful produce and helping supply so many local markets in our area.
And there are more too. So many people trying to build something meaningful.
At The Barn Market at Deer Creek Farms, we raise our own beef right here. This isn’t just business for us… it’s our passion. We believe local matters. We believe knowing your farmer matters. We believe community matters.
Where you can point to the pasture your beef comes from while also supporting local and small business grocery items for the community.
Big box stores will survive without us. Small farms and local markets won’t.
If we really want local farms, roadside stands, farmers markets, and small community businesses to still exist years from now… it’s going to take all of us choosing them more often.
This summer, make it a point to stop by a farm stand. Visit a farmers market. Buy local beef. Grab local produce. Support the people putting their hearts into this work.
There’s enough room for all of us to thrive.
Let’s make supporting local a movement again.
Tag your friends. Share this post. Encourage somebody to shop small this weekend.
