We care about our community and our planet. We use local products as much as possible. Our beef comes from Dyer Livestock BEEF. Our mushrooms are from Gowin Valley Farms . Our alfalfa sprouts on our Fabb and beautiful flowers on our drinks are from Groovy Gardens . Our buns are from Niedlov's Bakery & Cafe .We use sustainable practices such as composting with TerraCycle US and using glass bottles and refillable soaps from Full Circle Refillery.

In a city internationally known for flooring, Dalton's entrepreneurial spirit has always belonged to people willing to see opportunity where others don't. Emma Reigel found hers growing quietly beneath the forest floor.

Emma grew up on her family's farm in Rocky Face, dreaming of one day making it her business. After years in Atlanta working in pharmaceutical marketing, she came home during the pandemic to care for her grandfather and never really left. What started with a vegetable garden became a fascination with mushroom cultivation, which led to a research grant, university partnerships, and eventually Gowin Valley Farms, now producing 200 to 250 pounds of gourmet mushrooms each week for acclaimed restaurants across the region.

Her mushrooms appear on menus at St. John's Restaurant in Chattanooga, Old Man Rivers Table & Tavern, and McLemore Resort, among others. She's Wild Mushroom Food Safety Certified, works alongside researchers at Dalton State College, UT Knoxville, and UTC, and hosts interns from local universities at the farm.

And she's building it all intentionally: sustainable, collaborative, and rooted in community.

"I get to do farming, but I also get to do research and work with higher education," Emma says. "It really is my dream job."

One week from today and I am already excited 🤩

Pitts Cattle Farm Spring Vendor Market is almost here💚❤️

We have 31 vendors coming and this will be our biggest one yet. The lineup is so good and it just makes me happy seeing so many farms and families all in one place. That is what this is all about!

Rain or shine we will be set up indoors at Hanks, so come on out either way.

We will have a food truck and live music, so plan to stay a while and enjoy it.

Come spend the morning with us from 9:00-to 1:00, take your time, and support some really great people 🧑‍🌾

Come see us and owner Emma Reigel at the 2nd annual Spore to Store: Urban Mushroom Symposium hosted by UGA March 5-6 in Griffin, GA!

She will be presenting with Thien Nguyen, UTK doctoral student who is in the Food Science department with Dr. John Peter Munafo. We will discuss our research collaborations and more about Gowin Valley Farms!
