Pleasant Hill Pecans

Pleasant Hill Pecans Family-owned pecan orchard in Edgecombe County, NC, established 2014. If you're interested in getting pecan wood, please contact us.

We have halves and chopped pecans available year-round, in-shell pecans starting in the fall around harvest time, and we also provide cracking. A one pound bag of halves or chopped pecans is $13.50, and a three pound bag is $37. We do offer quantity discounts. A 5 pound bag of in-shell nuts is $22.50, a 10 pound bag is $45, and a 50 pound bag is $200.00. Cracking is $0.50 a pound with a $10.00 min

imum charge. You may drop off the nuts, and we will call you when they are ready to be picked up. We will try to make exceptions for out-of-town customers, but please try to call us before hand to arrange. We will try to crack the nuts immediately while the customer waits, but we cannot guarantee that will be possible. At this time, we do not offer shelling. We are only able to crack pecans, so you will still need to personally pick out and separate the nut meat from the shell before it is ready to be eaten.

Before we went out and harvested the Pawnee nuts on Monday, we had to consult the equipment manuals to see what sort of maintenance might have been necessary. Basically, chains were tensioned and lubricated. It ended up being a pretty long and tiring day.

There's almost always something.

Yet again, I grabbed the impact wrench because I couldn't break the bolt loose with only adjustable wrenches. It sure does help to have the right tools for the job.

Debby was a bit of a downer, literally. It could have been a lot worse, but it could have been better, like with many things. The central leaders of two trees snapped, and a few smaller trees got pushed over somewhat. The storm cleanup will follow shortly

The Cooler Combo Caulkers

We tried using a manual caulk gun at first, but the forearm fatigue and burn was just flabbergastingly bad. Part of the problem may have been that the caulk wasn't resealed well enough once it was initially opened. Anyways, the battery powered caulk gun was worth it considering how much caulking we actually ended up doing.

Those are panels that are part of the 10 x 10 ft walk-in cooler that we put together. Boy, was it a bigger job than we were told it'd be!

The Gator's been finicky about starting for a while, so it's kind of a process of elimination for what's causing it. The air filter needed to be replaced as you can see, but the Gator still struggles at times to start. On to replacing the fuel filter.

After several weeks picking up all the pruning debris we could find, this is what Joseph and I ended up with. Of course, since then, the mowers have found some more sticks and branches the rough way that were hidden under the dense and tall grass and weeds we've been getting under control. If anyone is interested in getting pecan wood, please contact us.
