Summer Camp for June 23 week was a blast! What a heat wave, but the horses were absolutely pampered this week. The kids also survived and had a great time! Huge thanks to Rachel Meyerchick for such stellar shots!

Summer Camp this week! For those that have signed up. Don't forget a bathing suit. We will start the day horsing around, but after lunch we will be in some kind of water! We look forward to seeing everyone.

Decisions on riding in the next few days need to be heavily weighed. Hopefully it settles and isn't like this all summer. Today feels great so take advantage. Ride early or late if you have to.

A dangerous June heatwave is taking shape later this weekend and into next week. Sunday the highs will be around 95 for most, and then by Tuesday some will soar into the triple digits. This is JUST air temperature and does NOT account for the humidity. The Heat Index will be higher.

It's best to stay in the air conditioning until this passes. Exertion outside in the heat, especially during the hottest part of the day, is dangerous. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are two things that no one should want to experience.

Take frequent breaks, stay hydrated, and don't overdo it. It's best to stay in the AC indoors during the hottest part of the day, which is from 11am-6pm. Exercising or outdoor work should ideally be done inside.

It's going to stay hot most of next week, so this heatwave could be a prolonged one. Air conditioning service people will be very busy. As will the power companies.
