They are both experiencing snow for the first time today. I don’t think either of them enjoy it very much. After much playing in the snow, we had to towel dry our poor little farm dog. He definitely did not like getting his paws wet. I might need to make him a coat 😂

Vilkas and Echo wanted to say Hi!
💜🐐
We haven’t posted on here in quite a while but that’s because life has just gotten crazy. We have taken some time away from social media to just focus on our family and enjoy the slow living, although at times it doesn’t feel very slow.
In the next couple of weeks we will begin selling our baked goods and homesteading supplies again. So stay tuned!

Our last batch of tomatoes for this year. 🍅 These will be going into the freezer until fall and we begin canning our sauces. We don’t do any canning during these hot summer months in the south 🥵 It get so hot I swear the kudzu stops growing!

We haven’t posted in quite a while but it has been busy here on the farm! We are expecting our first babies in March and all the challenges that comes with it so social media has not been our first priority at the moment. But I do miss interacting with you all!
-
Hopefully we will have a farm stand set up in the future so we can get back to selling to our community!
-
We ask for your prayers as we begin our new journey into parent life with twins :)

Today I spotted the very first tomato of the season—small as a marble, glowing like a jewel, and tucked shyly beneath a frill of green leaves. It’s as if the garden gave me a wink and whispered, “There’s more where that came from.”

The tiniest beginnings often carry the most delight. Here’s to a summer full of little garden surprises and sun-warmed magic.

It’s tomato season! 🍅
This is by far the best crop we have had with our tomatoes! After 2 years of practically getting nothing we finally have big tomatoes coming in and I am so excited for these tomato sandwiches and pasta sauce to come. I might just have to sit out in the garden with a jar of dukes and some salt waiting for them to ripen :)🥪🍅

Today was a hard day.
We lost Queenie, our first hen and the queen of the coop in every sense of the word.

This was our first loss on the farm. We always knew the saying — where there’s livestock, there’s deadstock — but nothing really prepares you for when it happens. She wasn’t just a chicken to us; she was part of the heartbeat of this place.

Queenie had a way of making herself known — always first to the feed bucket, always curious about what we were doing, always a little sassier than the rest. She made us smile every single day.

We’re grateful for the time we had with her, and for the lessons she taught us — about caring for something with your whole heart, even when you know you’ll one day have to let go.

We’ll miss you, Queenie.
The coop feels a little quieter tonight.

New things happening on the farm :) Our precious Billy, Gandalf is currently exploring new pastures and making friends at a new farm until we get his new pen built. Just have to build the gate and my baby can come home this weekend :) and our strawberries are beginning to bloom. I’m so excited for berry season 🍓🍰

Seed starting day! We are going back to the basics after our garden didn’t do well last year so this year we are just doing our tower planters and a few buckets of things we already had from last year. It’s taking everything in me not to purchase another because now they have my favorite colors in 😅
